Dr. Prashanthi Thota, MD

My every experience with Dr. Thota has been outstanding. From her concern, to her bedside manner, to her ultimate skills--top notch all the way! I cannot praise her enough. In fact, between my annual visits with her, and seeing my other physicians, I actually miss her and look forward to my Cleveland Clinic visits with her. And--she is so smart that its scary!

When I first went to Cleveland Clinic, I met Dr. Thota and I found her attentive and thoughtful and focused and straight-forward. I was grateful for all of these traits as I became her patient and worked with her on handling my particular presentation of disease - Barrett's Esophagus and stomach polyps, - over the next year or so. Each scan finds me anxious, as no one wants to be scanned, but I trust Dr. Thota's intelligence and experience and research knowledge. My husband and I make the trip from South Bend, Indiana over to Cleveland when it is time for a scan, and I am grateful to know, that on the other end, Dr. Thota, and her team will be waiting.

I highly recommend this dedicated very intelligent Dr. Thota for endoscopy services. She has successfully treated me for Barretts Esophagus over the past year and she is very nice and listens to your concerns as well. I am so very grateful for her treatment and would go back to her in the future if needed.

ABSOLUTLY TERRIBLE experience!! Was scheduled for an EGD and colonoscopy yesterday. Because I have had aspiration pneumonia before they were supposed to protect my airways from now on. Well... I go back in the room, they give me Demerol and Versed. Must have been a toddler dose because let me tell you, I was fully awake, screaming in pain during my colonoscopy while she is telling me I’m fine. After the colonoscopy she did the EGD and once again fully aware and awake and in pain. I was supposed

Dr Thota caught my mom’s stomach cancer before she even showed symptoms. She put off her move to the downtown campus to bring my mom in and break the news to her. She answered all our questions and was very compassionate. She had already set up an appointment with an oncologist to meet with us after she explained everything to us. Mom is cancer free today but we still see Dr Thota for her follow up appointments. Mom hates the downtown campus but will go there just because Dr Thota is there.

I don’t doubt Dr. Thota’s expertise, she may very well be an excellent Doctor although she never would have made it in family practice. Her bedside manner is fair at best. I had another patient in the waiting room say as he was leaving “good luck, you’ll either love her or hate her”. I wasn’t even sure who he was talking about until I went back. Unfortunately she doesn’t have a warming personality, in fact none at all and no smile. I was disappointed!

Did not have a good experience with her. She made me feel uneasy and didn't listen to my concerns. She was very vague when answering my questions and seemed irritated with me when I would ask for clarification. Seemed to always leave her office feeling confused. I'm sure she's probably good in her specialty but just not the right doctor for me.
