Dr. Philip Guilford, DO

I recently moved to the New Bern area and had a difficult time finding a doctor. I had my second visit with Dr. Guilford last week and I can honestly say I feel like he listens to me. He is not quick to prescribe medications and tries to meet you in the middle. The appointment did not feel rushed. The office staff is excellent and they are very polite and helpful. So glad I found this clinic.

My wife and I have been looking for a general doctor for over a year now after our last doctor retired. We have finally found a doctor that cares about our health and listens to our concerns. And the office staff is great too!

He was our new doctor. He is not understanding for people that are sick and elderly.

I have been floating around looking for a primary care physician for the last 3 years. Found my guy yesterday. I needed someone who would listen, not be so flippant as many doctors can be as they are trying to squeeze in as many patients as possible in a day, and be invested in the care of a single patient. Me!

Dr. Guilford has been my caretaker for his internship at Abingdon Physicians in Abingdon, VA. He is graduating with his medical degree and moving out of the area. I am sad to lose him as he is a caring, listening, and concerned doctor who works with you to find what is best for you and your health. Any one will be lucky to get him as their provider wherever he plans to practice.

Dr. Guilford is an excellent doctor and makes me feel valued as a patient. He listens to, and addresses, each of my concerns, and if he needs to he will look up information so that I receive the best care possible.

Unwilling to listen. Unwilling to learn anything more.

Dr. Philip Guilford is diligent, good-humored, and knowledgeable. He does his research as needed and is a good listener. He inspires confidence in me. He expresses warmth and reserve at the same time. Having him close by is a real plus. I'm really glad he is my physician. P. S. I tried to give him fives across the board. I'm iffy as to whether or not I was successful in doing so. (And no chance to review.)

Very polite, asked lots of questions, consulted with another dr. answered all of my questions, really cared and wanted to find answers for my blood pressure. Saw me when my doctor was not there so I continued seeing him for past 5 months.

Dr. Guilford is an excellent doctor. He really cares about his patients. He takes time to listen to what I have to say and then explain things to me so i can understand what is going on. He has a way about him that makes you feel important not like you are an inconvenience.

We cannot thank you enough for the excellent care you have provided. We have been patients at your facility for many years, and have never had anyone to take the time to truly listen until now. You have made us feel valued and respected. We are certain God led us to you. You indeed are a blessing.

I saw Dr. Guilford for the first time when my doctor was on vacation and immediately asked to be changed to his service. He takes time to listen to his patients, asks questions, and conducts a through exam. He properly diagnosed a heart condition that had been missed diagnosed by a seasoned cardiologist after a hospital admission because he more than 15 seconds talking to me. The world needs more doctors like Phillip Guilford and I am so thankful that I have been under his care during his residency!
