Accident fall landed on curb back Kidneys
Called clinic and got in immediately. Stated I fell and landed on my back against curb. Stated I was bleeding. Was told to undress . She did a pelvic. Said she couldn't see anything. But wanted to do a pap smear. ?? I had no idea you could check on my kidneys with a pelvic. No tests (other than a pap) no follow up. Never did get results of pap.

Dr. Avina was personable, and thorough in her examination during an urgent care visit. She prescribed medications that were quickly sent over.

Dr. Avina's care
Dr. Avina has been my primary care physician for over 20 years. I have found her to be friendly, caring, well-informed, and professional. I have had health issues over the years and have always received the needed health care from her. She is very busy with a heavy patient load. I will remain with her secure that she is one of the best.

After reading other reviews, I felt it necessary to comment again. While there have been a few times in the past when reception staff has neglected to follow up on requests, I have not experienced this at all lately. Medical support staff has always been polite and professional with me.

Dr. Avina is wonderful, however, the staff is so unprofessional, untrained, downright rude, dismissive and with no follow-through. If you leave a message no one returns your call. If you have a medical emergency you might as well go to the emergency room. I have needed a letter from the doctor for over a month so that Lincare will pick up all the oxygen equipment. I have left a message and actually talked to a live person (at least I think she was alive - maybe not). NOTHING!

I am very sorry about my one star rating, because Dr. Avina is wonderful. However, the staff and organization is so poor I am switching physicians because of it. Five months in a row I have not been able to get a script without a ten day mess. Scripts go to the wrong pharmacy in the wrong town no matter how often I give correct info. People pick up the phone and go on talking to each other rather than saying hello. Most unprofessional office I've ever dealt with.
