I was hospitalized at St. Joseph's Hospital and Dr. Aneja was assigned to me as mt infectious disease doctor. My experience with the doctor was positive while at the hospital. I was discharged after 10 days of stay for continued home care. I was told to make weekly follow up appointments. It has been over a months since and I haven't been able to see Dr. Aneja yet. Getting an appointment, communicating with her office is beyond frustrating since no one answers the phones. Even after I personally went to their office and made an appointment for two weeks later, I ended up seeing a nurse practitioner instead of my doctor. I ran out of my 'very critical to take in a timely manner' antibiotics and after five days, still waiting her office to send a prescription to my pharmacy or to call me back. I am very disappointed with this level of care and worried about my health under Dr. Aneja's care.

St. Joseph's captured care – Jan 15, 2025

Dr. Aneja is Wonderful!
Dr. Aneja was a consulting physician during my wife’s hospitalization at St. Joseph’s South in Riverview. My wife encountered poor post-surgical care at another hospital, causing necrotic tissue (gangrene) in a deep abdominal wound. Dr. Aneja identified three different bacteria in my wife’s wound, and developed the appropriate, effective antibiotic treatment for them. She was a critical part of helping to avoid tragic consequences for my wife. She has a great personality, blending transparency with compassion. We were blessed to have her as part of my wife’s care team.

Highly recommend!
I was recently a patient at SJM, and Dr. Aneja was my infectious disease consultant - who basically ran my entire stay there, thank goodness. She is brilliant, thorough, and has a delightful bedside manner. I'm so grateful to her for her care during my hospital stay.

She was my attending during a recent hospital stay. I had a follow up visit in her office and was very happy with the results. More than that, her office manager, Maria Beltran, was exceptional and caring. She got a lot of questions answered for me by phone. Her follow up was exceptional.

My experience with the doctor was great however getting an appointment, communicating with her office is beyond frustrating since no one answers the phones and when the phone system picks up it tells you to enter a remote access code. When somebody finally did answer the phone I asked for a call back within 24 hours and it's now been over two days and no call back or communication. Additionally after my first appointment there was no follow-up at all from the office or the doctor which is not the kind of care you want from somebody when dealing with such sensitive issues as HIV care.

Told me what meds I was going to receive, if they made me feel worse, I was going to have to live with it. By 4th day of meds, I couldn't keep anything down, had severe diarrhea, got very weak, loosing weight, had no strength. 5th day stop meds, removed Picc Line & released me. She said there was nothing she could do for me. She never once talked with referring Dr. Infact she has not talked with/him or written any reports for his records. I'm going to have to say, I DO NOT recommend her. One star is too much.

She saved my life. If not for her, I don't know if the blood infection would have been diagnosed in time to save my life. She was caring, considerate and kept me informed every stage of my treatment and recovery.
