Highly recommended
We are ever in debt to Dr Gerken as he worked diligently to ensure my partner went to Vallejo for acute rehabilitation. Without him, I don't know where we would be today. Because of him, my partner is home safe and sound and on the mend, two months after his stroke.

Uncaring doctor for the elderly
Dr. Gerken was the hospitalist at Kaiser when my Granny was found to have an infection that eventually killed her. My first impression of him was his speaking to her very rudely and impatiently. He seemed to totally lack compassion for where she was in life. He pushed her into hospice, and even though we wanted to continue antibiotics while she was in the hospital, he didn't care about our wishes. Big ego and a lack of heart and patience.

I was admitted to Kaiser Permanente in San Rafael for diverticulitis. Dr Gerken was my doctor. He has excellent bedside manner, communicated well and explained everything, and is an excellent doctor in my opinion. I would highly recommend him. Thank you Dr Gerken
