Dr. Nisha Desai, MD

I have been using Dr Desai for a number of years and she has done a great job treating my eczema and my actinic Keratoses. She is very competent, professional, a good listener and makes great suggestions.

This was my first experience with a dermatologist. My teenage daughter has acne on face & back. Like one of the reviewers, I initially thought how nice Dr. Desai was and I was happy and hopeful. The more time I have spent with this doctor, the more disappointed and frustrated I have become. I am not sure if she lacks ability or is just so busy that she is not being as thorough or thoughtful as she should be. After a battery of treatments, including antibiotics, that brought little change, the Dr orders a biopsy remove an acne bump. Then we had to come in for further swabbing in which the Dr looked perturbed at my questions. I hated the look she gave me, but tried to chalk it up to her having a bad day and not hubris (my initial thought). Test results were sent through email and the nurse emailed instructions for more antibiotics to be taken. I asked to have the Dr call me as I have questions and don’t feel comfortable with antibiotics again. No response and it’s been 4 days. Aargh!

Did not feel that I rec'd a very thorough full skin exam. Way too quick. Prior Dr who left the area used a light while examining the body and looked very closely in my scalp. Dr Desai was very nice but too rushed. I have a family history of melanoma and will have to keep looking for a good dermatologist.

Dr Desai is extremely courteous, gentle and thorough. She makes direct eye contact and listens intently.

I have had health issues since birth and seen dozens of doctor's, I consider Dr. Desai one of the most genuine and helpful Doctor's I have worked with. My health has not only improved since I started seeing her but we have come up with a solid plan to keep improving it for years to come. Dr. Desai helped me turn my life around and I will always be grateful to her.

I would absolutely not recommend Dr Desai. She was impatient: she did not take time to answer questions. She was unhelpful: she did not respond to my pages - four of them - when I had urgent questions about my pre-schooler's condition. She was ruthless: took a biopsy when it may have been unnecessary and then had her nurse remove stitches before the wound was healed. She also berated us mildly for questioning the excessive dose of steroids she prescribed. Do yourself a favor; stay away from her.

I am so happy I switched doctors, Dr. Desai was like a breath of fresh air,, she was kind, patient,caring,& seemed very concerned...She was knowledgeable & relatable.. I just met her today, I haven't tried my treatment plan yet but surely looking forward to a positive remedy, TOTALLY unlike my last derm. I highly recommend Dr. Desai!
