Dr. Nikhil Koshy, MD

I recently had to have three surgeries. For my first surgery, I was assigned an anesthesiologist. I met him as they were prepping me for surgery. His consultation was short and fast and asked questions related to use of dentures, etc. After surgery, I had lots of nausea and vomiting and I struggled for 3 days to clear the anesthesia from my body. It was in pre-op for my second surgery that was assigned to Dr. Koshy. He asked the same questions as the first anesthesiologist, but he also asked some additional questions. He asked if I got sick after the first surgery. He then told me he was going to work hard, so that I did not have the same experience. His first step was placing a scopolamine patch. When I awoke from this surgery, it was easy, I felt alert and I had no nausea. It was at this point that I learned that I can request a specific anesthesiologist. I requested him for my third surgery. If you ever need surgery at Kelsey-Seybold in Houston I highly recommend Dr. Koshy.

Unlike a lot of contract anesthesiologists, Dr. Koshy closely reviewed the record of my last anaesthesia experience (which was a disaster!), and made appropriate adjustments. I was quickly able to transition out of the anaesthesia after my surgery. No nerve pain, no issues at all! Highly recommend him!
