Dr. Nida Syed, MD

Dr. Syed takes time with her patients, asking questions to understand the entire picture of their health. She orders labs and reviews results with the patient. It all can be done through the virtual appointments. I highly recommend Dr. Syed.

As anyone with a physician knows, life changes can result in the need to find a new Doctor. After 4 such changes, I was fortunate enough to find Dr. Syed. Although I was skeptical of the 'telehealth' process, I have become a big fan. I can now avoid the uncomfortable stints in the Psychiatrist's waiting room as well as the time lost driving to and from each appointment. The telehealth appointments have the added benefit of allowing me to attend my appointments whether I am at work (on a break), traveling on vacation, or just enjoying my day off. I have found Dr. Syed to be thoughtful and reflective during our sessions and she has continued my previous treatment plan but has discussed options currently available (which were not available at the time of my initial diagnosis). She has monitored my lab work and recommended supplements which have improved my mood and discovered some potential health issues now treated by my primary care physician.

Dr. Syed is the first psychiatrist to take a truly holistic approach to my care. After years of frustration with in-network providers (i.e., long waits, limited availability, and little flexibility), I went out-of-network at my previous psychiatrist’s recommendation. It was the best decision for my mental health.Dr. Syed listens with empathy, collaborates on solutions that fit my needs, and takes a holistic approach and extra steps, like ordering a full blood panel to rule out deficiencies or underlying issues. She schedules timely check-ins so I’m never left struggling between appointments, and I can reach her through the portal for concerns.After nearly a year of working with her, I finally feel like myself again. The road hasn’t been easy, but with her care, I’ve found the right treatment. If you want a psychiatrist who truly listens and prioritizes your well-being, I highly recommend Dr. Syed.

I visited Ms. Syed about five times. Each time she tried to repeat things I had said which were not what I had said, indicating that she was not really listening or understanding. She repeatedly said, "Wow. Your life sounds really bad." I did not feel like my life was bad and this was not a nice thing to hear. I never felt that she was supportive nor "in my corner".

Excellent doctor, she is thorough and cautious to be sure there are no medication interactions. She listens and takes her time. I would highly recommend Dr. Syed!
