Dr. Parkerson did not listen to me at all when I was her patient. I had ringworm at one point and she did not even look at it but said "White people can't get ringworm" I later went to my dermatologist who said I definitely had ringworm and that I would now have to take oral medication rather than the normal treatment for it as it had progressed. She invalidated all of my medical concerns which I later received confirmation that I was not going insane which she honestly made me feel like I was. I felt so medically gaslit that I now have major anxiety when I am speaking to doctors about my health concerns.

Nope! Doesn't listen very well. It's her way or the highway. I changed doctors because of this experience.

My visit with Parkerson that underscored her incompetence. We brought our son in for a sick appointment, it was late in the day and Parkerson expressed that she could not treat him at the office - sent us to the ER. After 8 hours at Duke's ER we met with the chief physician who detailed that this should have been treated in office, and likely was worse for our child having to wait in an ER for 8 hours instead of being home

We have been seeing Dr. Parkersen since my boys were first born (now 11/12). She is friendly, positive and makes you feel comfortable with asking questions, and never makes you feel rushed. As a new mom, I'd come in with an axiety filled list of questions that I would write down on paper and she would go thru it, line by line 'til each one was crossed off the list. At one time the office stopped taking our insurance and we paid out of pocket for 3 yrs just to be under her care...she's THAT good!
