Very superficial and uncaring doctor
poor bedside manner. I requested PT and also a referral to which she did not respond with a plan or any referrals indicating you don't need it. I was in pain so I just went to another doctor and spent more money. I had to dismiss her prior a few times. She is very transactional and negligent. She does not respond to requests from patients because she thinks as a provider she cannot be questioned and her title gives her power. -really bad She is not caring.

Need therapy after seeing this doc
I originally picked Dr. Chang since she was the same demographic as myself. She ended up being the most dismissive, uncaring, uncompassionate provider I have experienced in my 47 years of life. I told her I was having back pain. She told me to exercise and strengthen my core. At this point in my life I was an advanced yogi and should have challenged her to a plank. The final straw was when I developed post partum De Quarvain’s tenosynovitis and asked her to sign a disability form since I was an ER nurse. I knew I would never be cleared by employee health to go to work. Dr. Chang’s response was “I am not signing that form, it’s not like you can’t walk.” I can walk, but I was not even able to do dishes, forget about CPR. Honestly I think her parents wanted her to be a doctor and her patients experience her resentment. Do yourself favor and find a doctor who wants to help people and listen.

I have been having very similar negative experiences for a number of years. I have continued to try to communicate and work with her. It's not working. She doesn't listen, hears what she wants or expects to hear not what you have said. Not personal or compassionate. Reviews medications constantly which are "maintenance" meds due to ongoing issues that have not changed in years with very few exceptions. In office Notes available for review online she has been derogatory and has misquoted my statements, even lied. She will not make changes or addendums "because that is what she heard". Not surprising to be wrong when she doesn't have time to listen. After years of regular visits, she does not know me as a person nor do I think she cares. Interested only in time allowed per visit and government or practice regulations regarding medications. If this is due to John Muir's guidelines, it is difficult to find a doctor of internal medicine that isn't affiliated in the Walnut Creek area.

THE WORST experience I have ever had: Condescending, unbelievably condescending. I had filled out a pre-exam questionnaire "for the doctor to review" She didn't read it, I handed it to her and she tossed it on the table. She asks a question, then answers it herself with whatever she wants to hear. eg: "Do you exercise?" "Yes, every day" "What do you do for a living?" "I work in an office" "So you are sedentary and don't exercise much" "No, I exercise every morning, and sometimes again at night" "So you exercise once or twice a week" "No, I exercise every day". Keep in mind I am sitting in front of her wearing a t-shirt, and it's really obvious that I'm fit. The entire visit was like this, I almost couldn't believe it. When the interrogation was over she left. Her scribes left. My patient questionnaire was left on the counter. - still unread....it left with me. Don't go to her.
