I reviewed Dr. Hum (5 stars) but forgot to include the staff and her P.A., Caroline. Wonderful staff...very nice and caring. Caroline is terrific too...very pleasant and knowledgeable. Like Dr. Hum, she goes above and beyond to help her patients. She returned my calls quickly, saw me right away when I was having a problem, and helped me get a medication. Great doctor and team.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hum since 2013. She and her office staff are personable, professional, and courteous. Occasionally, I have gone to other doctors locally not wanting to make the drive to Atlanta. I went back to Dr. Hum after being misdiagnosed for an issue that required surgery. Dr. Hum explains things in everyday language you can understand. Her staff was alway concerned and quickly attentive to questions I had after surgery. I highly recommend them. Worth the drive!

Dr. Hum was as wonderful as ever. She spent a lot of extra time (unheard of normally) discussing my medical issues and explaining my procedure and options. I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else.

I have been treated by Dr, Hum for a persistent fistula. From my very first encounter I found her to be very focused on getting to the root of my problem and making sure it was properly treated. Her office was very prompt and professional and always received me and got me in a treatment room with very little waiting. When you are with her and her staff you feel like you are their only priority when they are with you. All my questions were answered and I never felt rushed or hurried, She takes the time to make you feel like she truly listens and responds to your condition and concerns. I would recommend her highly to anyone with these types of problems. I did a lot of research before choosing her. I have to travel over 100 miles one way for every visit but I have no doubt I picked the right doctor for this. Thank your Dr, Hum.

After a year w another surgeon I changed to her and immediately she made me feel more at ease than I'd ever felt concerning colorectal issues. She listened, she made me laugh, she examined where I hurt and drew out the problem and we discussed a plan. She is wonderful. I would recommend all who have any colon, rectal, GI issues that require surgical consult to give her an opportunity. She's a gem!

Have visited multiple doctors over many, many years for a condition I "had". Most performed the same examination, each provided encouragement "healing" was on the way, each performed the same treatment or recommendation resulting in nothing more than a band aide. It's now been three months since Dr. Hum examined me and performed a procedure others are either not aware of or didn't feel was the solution. It was only a matter of minutes before Dr Hum diagnosed my issue and the following week performed a five minute in office procedure, ending serious discomfort, pain, suffering, embarrassment and discouragement. I am now better and wish I could post those doctors you should not consider. In addition to being a Doctor's Doctor, Dr. Hum is sincerely interested in you and your well being and has surrounded herself with an exceptional support staff. Thank you Dr. Hum!!!!

Great doctor who cares enough to get to the bottom of the issue. (sorry for the bad pun). Seriously, she takes time to figure out what is really going on and fix it. Also takes extra time to explain fully to the patient. So she is both caring and thorough. Great doctor. The only negative is that her practice (office) has set up the phone system in a way to make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, for a patient to reach her staff by phone. All one can do is leave a message and hope they get back to you, which doesn't always happen and certainly doesn't happen in a timely manner. It is as if they don't want to talk to the patients. Of course, the patient is the customer, without whom they would have no practice, no job, no income. But the way the office is set up, they seem to forget that.

Terrible experience! Dr. Hum moved to the new office and hired a bunch of illiterate and non caring, irresponsible staff members who do what they please and not let her old patients from first location see the doctor. Rescheduled my appointment twice without notifying me and offered to reschedule again after 1 hour driving there and 1 hour waiting in the office. Misspelled my name, postal address and date of birth. No regard for patients following doc for 13 years since 2005.

I love this woman!!! She is so very attentive, caring, and really makes you feel like you’re in the best hands in the world. I must say that the wait time was enormous, however, once you speak with her you will understand why. Her bedside manner and the way she takes the time to explain and answer her patients questions....I would have waited the entire day. I left her office feeling complete and worry free. She is, hands down, amazing! I wish she was a PCP too.

Dr. Hum is amazing. She is extremely knowledgeable. As important as that is, it would be wasted if she could not communicate and relate to her patients. She excels in this area too. I went to her feeling overwhelmed and hopeless after decades of uncaring or incapable physicians. I'm finally feeling better and her treatment plan was encompassing and considerate of my life and needs. Thank you, Dr. Hum!

I have had two procedures performed by Dr. Hum not counting colonoscopies . The last one two months ago was a colon resection. My experience was that she is caring, kind, informative and patient. Being in our 60s, my wife and I had so many questions and concerns. I can't imagine any doctor being anymore profess and kind. I would recommend her to anyone I loved and wanted to have the very best care .

I am a 60+ year old male. Born and raised in Atlanta. When I needed a colon doctor a 5 years ago I asked Doctors and medical professionals who they would entrust their own father's care to. Dr. Monica Hum was consistently at the top of the list. Since then, I have had surgery and excellent care from her and her associates. I had an ER admittance to the hospital due to complications of diverticulitis. Her associate Dr. Ramakrishnan was on call. She, just like Dr. Hum took charge professionally.

I wish every doctor I visited had the expertise, understanding, and ability to diagnose and treat that Dr. Hum has. After seeing another doctor for almost a year, with no diagnosis, I was finally referred to Dr. Hum, who quickly diagnosed my condition and has taken great pains to explain what is happening and to listen to and answer my questions. Dr. Hum has helped me understand how to negotiate the situation that is the new normal for me. I cannot overstate how excellent she is. Go see her!
