I was lucky to get an appointment with plush care. I've been feeling sick for 2 weeks and finally the green chunky phlem coughing up from my lungs, and the fever has become unbearable. I needed the help of medical professionals. Doctor Michelle Mitchell asked me to open my mouth and looked at my throat through my phone camera and said, "oh that looks really red and sore and I see the green phlem." I did't have a sore throat and the phlem isn't coming up from deep within my lungs. I called to get medical care but instead she just prescribed stronger over the counter medicines that I've been taking for the last 2 weeks. I asked for an antibiotic that worked a few years ago when I had similar symptoms That worked like magic but she said no. I'm gonna have to find an emergency clinic tomorrow and pay more money to get the medical care that I need. This was a very quacky experiene.

Dr. Mitchell has poor bedside manner, is condescending, and rude. If you are looking for a warm, inviting, and empathetic doctor look elsewhere.

I feel fortunate to have Michelle Mitchell as my doctor. She is the third doctor I have had since moving to Hawaii 10 years ago. The first doctor refused to help me with a condition that I have. The second doctor was great, but he retired soon after I signed up with him. Michelle stresses preventative medicine, which I like. She is very interested in listening to my questions, and always provides good feedback and suggestions. I think she is a very smart person. She takes as much time as needed to get to the bottom of issues, unlike my first doctor who shoved me out the door after 10 minutes. The nurses and receptionist are great, friendly and professional. Two friends recommended Michelle to me, and they are also impressed by her.

I am in the medical profession and Dr. Mitchell has earned my optimal trust. She has appropriately diagnosed and treated my health issues very effectively. She has referred me out to several specialists. And she has followed up appropriately as well. Dr. Mitchell is highly educated & is dedicated to her medical practice and upmost care of her patients.

Doctor doesn’t make time for her patients and doesn’t seem willing to listen. She is brief and limits questions so you only talk about one issue at a time rather than think holistically. Literally walks out of the room while you are still trying to ask about your health. If you can’t get it asked within 10 minutes you’re out of luck. Knowledgeable but lacks compassion.

Dr. Mitchell has treated my mother for over a decade and she is a wonderful, thoughtful, educated and sensible physician. She takes a preventative approach to care and often elects to take the most holistic and non-invasive route first, rather than jumping to use more drastic operative or drug therapies right off the bat. This is not to say that she will not resort to these methods if necessary, but she is not a doctor that will dole out drugs and surgical referrals on demand. Obviously, this does not sit well with everyone. She does not have what you might call a cheery bedside manner, but she is pleasant, professional, listens to her patients and is obviously very dedicated to their long-term health and finding practical solutions for their care needs. My mother speaks very highly of her and I have seen on my visits the affection, patience and utmost respect with which she treats her. We could not ask for a better physician.

This doctor said I had two nodes in my throat and scheduled a blood test and ultrasound which both came back negative, no nodes! What? Then I had to wait two more weeks before she could tell me that? She's a nightmare waiting to happen, lost my trust as a pcp.

Her office Smell is terrible and her staff and A nurse are really bas as professional. A nurse didn't even know condition of GBS. It was bad bad. Maybe she does't know what GBS is. How can she determine that the patient is handicap or not by looking five steps of patient walking? Where did Dr. Mitchell found this dumm nurse?

Angry ex-patient – Dec 06, 2018
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Mitchell?
Pompous and condescending. I had 2 major concerns, she didn’t want to talk about either, instead tried to psychoanalyze something irrelevant. Left crying. Also, after receptionist said their office could do a simple procedure, AND after an in-person meeting with a nurse who confirmed this, Mitchell called me to say “NO” - after I’d switched her to be my PCP cuz of the procedure.

her office staff lack the skills to make their patients feel like they are human and that they matter. My adult daughter seemed INVISIBLE TO THEM....when I stepped into view with my healthcare agency name tag, ALL OF A SUDDEN, I was visible, they looked right past my daughter and asked me (NOT THEIR PAYING CLIENT) if I needed assistance....I have NEVER experienced this level of disrespect, I found myself wondering if this is how they treat all their patients. Not impressed.

Just horrible. Only thing worse than my new condition was this doctor's ability to offer treatment options. Blamed me for wasting her staffs time by requesting referrals. Accused me of lying. Why be a doctor if your just going to victim blame? Plenty of free appointments though! Wonder why? Stay away.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Mitchell?
She is arrogant and should not be trusted. She misdiagnosed me about several things and claimed that she provided services that she did not.. I had a lump in my pelvis for over two years. I told her I thought it was a hernia. She said it was swollen lump nodes and ordered no tests. A reputable Doctor sent me for ultrasound and it was a hernia. She also misdiagnosed me with a psychological disorder to generate business for the in-house Marriage and Family therapist. Quack!

"Dr. M," as she calls herself, refused to answer my questions, nor offer any solutions to the issue I posed. Instead, she chose to be condescending, claiming that my very specific questions were already addressed, noting the dates that I messaged them. No solutions, no compassion. Sensitive info messaged via her site is shared with staff, FYI. Staff is unprofessional. I recall a boisterous conversation about butternut squash, and one of them just making up a number for my blood pressure!

The staff needs to be fired. Not professional at all. Unsure of the docs abilities as staff refused to see my mom. We were 15 minutes late. Thought our appointment was 9. Turns out they had 830. No call to confirm or remind. Staff obviously too busy, though had 4 standing around talking story.

Dr. Mitchell is one of the most meticulous family practitioners in Hilo. It took a while to get to know her and for some of the previous reviewers, perhaps they didn't, but once you do make that investment, you will find a warm, caring individual whom you can trust Her office is scruffy because she is building a new one!
