Dr Schlitt is a phenomenal neurosurgeon! He followed my dear, late husband, through his battle with glioblastoma, grade V, in an extraordinarily attentive and professional manner. John was debulked twice by Dr Schlitt with absolutely excellent medical and surgical care. His understanding for our concerns were always met professionally and compassionately. That allowed us greater relaxation in the confidence that we were truly considered and given the best possible treatments available. We felt very confident in Dr Schlitt’s extremely competent hands. He even phoned after office hours to assist us in making the most advantageous decision, when we were about to make a critical mistake. I’m forever grateful to Dr Michael Schlitt, our outstanding physician and surgeon, for the tremendous help he was to us during the most difficult transition of our lives! Cancer effects everyone dear to the patient. Dr Schlitt was always cognizant of that and never lost sight of either John or I.

Dr. Michael Schlitt is the worst surgeon. I would never recommend him. He made the surgery worse than what it was. He actually did two surgeries, the first one removing a nerve, that never should have been removed, and shortly after doing another surgery to try to repair what the first surgery didn't do. It's been over twenty years now, and I have had serious medical problems, all relating back to that first surgery he did. Both surgeries we were covered by insurance, and he told us upfront, that he wouldn't do the surgery for what the insurance company would pay him. We had to pay up front before he would preform the surgery. After the second surgery, he said that I would have to learn to live this way.

Worst doctor EVER!!! I was referred to him because I needed hernited my disc @ work.. My MRI revealed I required URGENT surgery. I was a truck driver for over 35yrs. delivering heavy equipment, This was the ONLY time I EVER had an L&I claim. Schlitt said he did not deal with L&I cases. He lied in his report, stating my primary concern was 'genetic spinal stenosis' in order to bill my insurance & said I injured my disc at home. I did NOT have spinal stenosis.! I LOST my L&I case due to his greed.

I WOULD RECOMMEND DR. SCHLITT, IN HEARTBEAT! HE HAS OPERATED ON MY BACK AND I NOW LIVE WITH INITIALLY A 50% DECREASE IN PAIN, THE NERVE PAIN IN MY RIGHT LEG IS GONE!!! STILL SOME TROUBLE, THAT I HAVE HAD SINCE AN INJURY IN 2012. I AM AMAZED AT HIS CLARITY OF CARE, HIS SWEET SPIRIT. HE'S STRICT IN HIS DIRECTIONS FOR RECOVERY, AND I NEED THAT CLARITY! HE VISUALLY SHOWED ME THE PROBLEM ON MRI, ON A LEVEL I UNDERSTOOD! HE SAW ME DAILY AT THE HOSPITAL! IT'S SLOW HEALING-HAVE HOPE! BLESSINGS!

If you are looking for a surgeon to treat hydrocephalus, keep looking; Dr Schlitt was neither competent nor candid in my treatment. He removed about 60 cc of brain mass trying to recover the old ventricular shunt & blamed its movement on a nonexistent fall. He ignored several days of crippling headaches & cognitive collapse that turned out to be the result of a major subdural hematoma. I am now under the care of an excellent neurosurgeon but am still recovering from Dr Schlitt's devastation.

We were highly satisfied with Dr. Schlitt's care while John was treated for a serious head trauma that involved a subsequent craniotomy a month after the incident. The operation was a success & John was released from anti-seizure meds at my request a year after the operation. That was 2 years ago and we're both happy with John's progress. I valued Dr. Schlitt's opinion & he listened & respected my concerns about continuing anti-seizure meds if we felt they weren't needed.
