Amazing doctor!
Thank you so much, Dr. Hartman! I wanted to share my experience with you. From when I walked into your office, your staff from check-in to checkout is A-PLUS at MD Spine Care! Everyone was professional and super compassionate! They all worked together as a team! It is a rarity these days! After seeing two other doctors, he was the first one who didn't immediately jump to surgery. I am still on the path to living pain-free, following a great care plan focused on my overall wellness. I can't say thank you enough!

My family doctor called me to tell me needed surgery. He even made the case high priority. Saw Dr. Hartman right away. Staff was rude, not just one person but all of them. Made me feel like it was a bother they had to work. Doctor was down right mean and short tempered. Take some asprin and go back to work. Please do not waste your time or money! This man implanted hardware that was contraindicated (do not use if...) by my pre-existing condition of which he was made aware of pre-op. He didn't even bother to tell me of the risk/conflict or give thought as to why it was listed by the manufacturer as "not to use because the risks clearly outweigh any potential benefit." Result: Failed fusion, another surgery performed by a neurosurgeon. Even my insurance said, "Do not let Dr. Hartman cut on you again." That has to say something... All I will say is, "Shame on you Dr. Hartman!!"

Dr Hartman did a spinal fusion on me in 2000 and saved my life after a car accident. He told me the more active I was after healing would help prolong the next sx needed..he told me to expect to need another sx in about 10 yrs and 18 yrs later I'm still functioning actively . I will be needing sx I the future and wish my insurance covered him but I moved away years ago!! I love this Dr and am thankful for his beautiful work and all the good years he gave me while raising my wonderful babies:)

Hartman did my spinal fusion. After recovery I still have a lot of pain moving from a reclined or vertical position. Hartman states he does not have all the answers when brought up. My real big issue with him and his practice is that long story short I was denied my short term disability claim 5 weeks early because of his poor documentation of my condition. His staff was very rude about any attempt I made to get the issue resolved. So if you want to be paid STD while you recover, go elsewhere!

Dr. Hartman did my spine fusion almost 2 years ago.. It is so good to be out of pain, and to be able to stand straight again. He is a very kind and gentle Dr. who really will care about you in all areas of your surgery and rehab. I would recommend Dr. Hartman to everyone.

Dr. Hartman only wanted the best for me and did everything the right way. He was always straight forward and and made sure that my stay at Goshen hospital was nothing but perfect. After receiving surgery from him, my pain vanished. Amazing doctor.

Our family unfortunately has bad backs. Six years ago my husband who was then 34 had his L3,4,5 fused. He also did our 16 year olds L4,5,S1 fusion surgery two years ago. He did an amazing job. I would not take anyone in our family to anyone else.

I went to Dr. Hartman with lower back pain that was diagnosed by other doctors as 3 herniated discs with which he agreed. I had the injections, therapy, etc. none of which helped. He said a spinal fusion was the last resort. He did the surgery and the healing process was not like he described early on. Much more painful. Over a year later I am still hurting 24/7 and can't stand or walk for more than 10 minutes. I am NOT a satisfied patient and would NOT recommend this doctor.
