I would recommend Dr. Caluda.
It is not often you meet a surgeon who is kind and compassionate. I do not like to go to the doctor. It stresses me out for many reasons. I am thankful for a doctor like him who has your best interests at heart.

Dr Caluda denied cancer, despite pathology report. Then finally did surgery almost missing tumor marked by wire hanging out (0.4mm margin!). Cancer came back. Does not want patient involvement. Very, very fragile ego. NOT recommend!!!!

Very fragile ego for a surgeon. Responds poorly to questions. Denied pathology results to delay surgery. Then cancer came back.

Dr Caluda preformed a lumpectomy and lymph node removal on me. I was told he was the best in the area. He told me beforehand that my being a smoker could cause infection issues. I asked for patch or something to help me stop which he would not prescribe. I was able to quit for only 4 days. When I went for 1 week post check, I did not like how my breast incision looked and he blamed it on smoking although the lymph incision healed perfectly. I had no fever no redness no oozing no signs of infection at all but the incision was a quarter inch wide opening. He said it would be fine it was just taking too long because I started smoking again. 2 days later I ended up with ringworm one inch away from my incision.I got Immediate Care from another doctor when I realized what it was. One week later I had to go see dr. Caluda again check for the healing. At that time he suggested that I go back through surgery for him to repair it. That is when I refused to go to him anymore.

I met with 3 General Surgeons before I felt comfortable enough choosing Dr. Caluda. I was extremely anxious and nervous about this whole process and after first meeting with him, he put all my worries aside. I understand how busy Doctors are and how rushed they seem however, what separated Dr. Caluda from rest was that he took the time to answer my questions and acted like he truly was there to help me, the patient. I highly recommend him for any procedure!

Dr Caluda did a wonderful job explaining the procedure, answering my questions, and putting me at ease during the initial visit and right before the surgery. I had very little bruising after the surgery and was almost healed by the time of my follow up. Excellent surgeon! I'd be happy to recommend him to anyone. I'd also like to mention his professional, caring staff.

Dr Caluda removed half of my thyroid. Total time for procedure was just over one hour. He is exceptional. Almost no post op pain and he does ensure that all your needs are answered. He does not, unless circumstances dictate, make hospital visits but does answer all nurse calls and ensures your discharge documents contain any and all requirements for follow ups or med requirements. He makes sure you get the best care. Need a friend, make one. If you want the best surgeon, see Dr Caluda.

Dr. Caluda performed my thyroid removal surgery. He was over an hour late for the surgery, did not prescribe thyroid medication during my hospital stay and did not show up for rounds the next morning. The follow up care from Dr. Caluda and his staff has also been disappointing. He does not listen to his patients and his nurse does not return calls.
