Dr. Michael Benke, MD

I’ve been to Dr. Benke several times over the last 5 or 6 years for water on the knee. He removed the fluid painlessly and then injected cortisone which helped the pain a lot. Very professional and efficient, I highly recommended him.

Doesnt explain patients condition or prognosis- or options ! Seemed cold and totally not interested in my symptoms ! Gave no advice or prognosis ! Just a cortisone shot with no explanations or advice!!! Why did I bother ? He couldnt have cared less !! Absolutely no “bedside “ manner ! Impressed with himself !

My mother was feeling lot of pain in the leg and I had to find a doctor. Even though we live 50 miles away, I booked an appointment. The doctor office called and asked if we can come in earlier and I ended up going to the wrong office. I realized the mistake and called the office and anytime we call, you have to wait for 15-20 minutes to talk to the manager. Our original appointment was still available but I have never seen a front office members that were so rude. We printed our insurance card and had our passport and even for that, they made a big issue. The doctor was even worse. Was rushing, spent 2-3 minutes in total and was trying to finish his day. On the follow-up appointment, the nurse was extremely rude. My mother can understand English but she would not be able to talk to the doctor and explain. I told her that I need to be there and I was there in the office room with the doctor last time. Eye rolling and few words to herself and she let us in. Never going again.

Visited Dr. Benke for a pulled hamstring as a walk in. Service was excellent, although the nurse was mad I came around 4pm as a walk in, that is no reason to ding the overall service that was received from Dr. Benke. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and they were able to give me all the care, advice, and direction I needed. I would definitely recommend Dr. Benke to anyone needing an orthopedist.

Dr. Behnke has treated me over several years, most recently this week for knee, hip and bursitis problems. The hip and bursitis are new to me...after x-rays and having them explained to me, he injected the bursa with cortisone and in two weeks I will repeat the gel shot to my knee. He is patient with a great sense of humor and allowed the time necessary to show me what was wrong.

The front people are always courteous,. They get you in and out on time and answer any questions you have. Very well run office. A good experience.

Dr. Benke is great. He’s very knowledgeable and knows exactly what needs to be done in order to fix you up. He performed my hip arthroscopy surgery after a laneral year caused from a car accident. I felt relief of tremendous pain I suffered with for 10 months. I would definitely go back if needed and most definitely recommend him!

From the one time I broke my foot to the few years later I had issues with my knee, Dr. Benke was caring and professional. He loves his job and it shows in his demeanor to his patients. I had to get my knee operated on and he was amazing. Highly recommend..

From the beginning, Dr. Benke was committed to helping resolve my shoulder pain. Even before ultimately having no other choice but to have surgery, he attempted everything in his power to avoid it. After deciding to have the surgery, he explained with detail how he would correct all the things wrong in my shoulder to prevent it from reoccurring. Highly recommend Dr. Benke and his staff. I came to Active Orthopedic due to knee problems. Dr. BENKE was attentive to my complaints. Took xrays and determined my knees are gone on gone. He suggested I get Synisc-one injections. They worked for a short period. Dr. Banks recommended I see Dr John, his partner for a tor. Dr. Banker has a nice bedside manner, he's very kind and gentle. I am very pleased with this practice. Would recommend him and his staff.

Dr. Benke was kind and informative. He spoke to me in terms I could understand and welcomed my questions and concerns. I recently underwent rotator cuff surgery. The office is well run and Barbara could not be more helpful. My overall surgical experience with Active Orthopedics in Hackensack was excellent. I would highly recommend this group.

Dr. Benke and his whole staff were friendly and very informative. My appointments were easy to get both in time and in location. The waiting room was never crowded and patients were taken back at an appropriate rate. I work in the medical field and appreciate a well run office.
