Dr. Michael Bellino, MD

20 years ago, I was run over by a van going 45 mph while walking to work, resulting in a major pelvic fracture. Dr. Bellino surgically reconstructed my pelvis in a very difficult operation (9 out of 10 by his own rating). Thanks to his skill and some judicious lifestyle choices, I've avoided a total hip replacement, which, at the time was considered 'a matter of when, not if it was to be done.

I had surgery on my right hip by someone else and it did not go well, so I asked around for who was the best to do my left and everyone said Dr. Bellino. They were 100% right. The hip he operated on is as good as new and has no lingering nerve or muscle issues. Every day is a constant comparison between my two hips and my only regret is that I can't go back in time and have him do the right hip too.

I am also a medical provider who got a recommendation from another MD who didn't know him to take care of my husband. I don't know ortho, but his bedside manner is excellent, he explained everything, very patient, and seems to truly care. Bonus. he has excellent experience and I'm very impressed with his background. Hawaii is lucky to have gotten him.

I broke my hip skateboarding. Bad injury. Dr. Bellino and his team made a difference to the good in the quality of my life. Total recovery. Great result going on 17 years post-opp. Can't thank him enough. His work is outstanding.

Performed my total right hip replacement. First doctor to effectively explain my x-ray and condition. Surgery and recovery flawless. He was one of few surgeons to be able to do an anterior replacement that you can hardly see on my body.

I've never had a total hip replacement before so I guess I have no one to compare him to. But all I can say about Dr Bellino, is that after 5 years of almost constant pain, after 6 weeks, no pain at all. Just working through muscle ache as I build them. The hip pain and associated pain is completely gone. Don't know what to say, except if I need the right one done in the future, hopefully he is still available because that's who I'm going to :).

I was in Stanford ER with double fractured ankle when I was 35 wks pregnant on 10/26/15. After X-Ray, I was told that surgery is needed ASAP. "ASAP" meant 30 hours! Meanwhile, no one came to show me my X-ray or detail explain procedures. I was introduced to Mr. Bellino after 2 plates and 7 screws were put in my leg and when I was being sewed up under anesthesia. He did not visit me in PACU or recovery. After 2 hr wait for post op visit, I was told ankle clasped, corrective surgery needed.

Upon my relocation to the bay area, I was referred to Dr. Bellino by my orthopedic surgeon. I found Dr. Bellino to be very unprofessional in my attempts to schedule an urgent appointment. He delayed more than a week getting back to me and then refused to see me.
