Dr. Melanie Hecker, MD

No way in hell — they have one of the most incompetent office help I’ve ever dealt with let alone try and get in touch with them by phone - I tested positive for skin cancer come to find out he doesn’t do the surgery so he recommended I go to another dermatologist doctor to get a Mohs procedure done - so far it’s taken over a week to get my records forwarded to my primary doctor so I can get an authorization and appointment with another dermatologist who will do the work— all I get is excuses as to why they ( the office) hasn’t been able to send my records— There is no excuse in the world why my medical records cannot be sent in less than a day or a day to another doctor I call it incompetence and a lack of professionalism -

This review isn’t about Dr. Hecker, it’s about the P.A.. I will never come back to this practice again. I was treated SO rudely. I was chastised for questioning the fact that I feel the surgery site is infected. Her ego surpasses her compassion or any bedside manner. She reluctantly took a culture and talked down to me as if I was a child. I left there unnecessarily upset over something that I felt needed attention. If I treated clients like she treated me, I’d be out of business.

This is actually about one of her Pad I saw for a suspicious mole that I'd actually picked off for the most part. That's not the issue. If you want to be treated like a human being and with someone who has the ability to empathize or smile or spend more than 5 Seconds looking at you keep looking. The medical assistant at the front desk was very nice but she can know where near offset the way the PA treat you

I got my appointment mixed up and arrived 10 days early but the office staff work a miracle and got me in so I didn’t have to come back. The doctor and staff were caring and informative. I felt like a VIP rather then just an appointment.

Dr. Hecker is a great Dermatologist! She is always available to her patients and provides the latest technologies that will help patients. Currently, they are using low dose radiation to cure basil and squamous cell cancers. The treatment is painless, requires no cutting, leaves no scares or bleeding. The Hecker Dermatolgy office is professional and well run. The staff provides excellent communication. Appointments are very easy to obtain. Waiting time is minimal. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Hecker was amazing in the treatment of my recent bout with bezel cell cancer on my nose. Believe me once I was diagnosed with bezel cell I was very scared and concerned surgical treatment would really be disfiguring.. Dr. Hecker recommended a new radiation treatment their office just started to use. That treatment option worked great! Cancer gone and no scaring. Thanks Heckerderm! I am one happy patient. RP

I went to see Dr. Hecker after hitting road blocks with other dermatologists and was so pleased to finally be treated as a patient and not a number. I presented many different concerns. Dr. Hecker addressed each question and explained the pros and cons of different treatment options. She helped me complete a full skin care plan to address all my needs. And the office staff Melissa, Brittney, and Jannay were very nice and helpful. Great office!

The last few years I have been a patient of both doctor David Hecker and doctor Melanie Hecker. Both are very professionals, caring and know their expertise well. I have visited the Pompano Beach office for cosmetic and for health procedures. Recently I had a red rash appear from nowhere on my back, I called the office and they were able to see me right away. Dr. Melanie Hecker is the most professional doctor. My 21 year old daughter's hair started to become very thin. she walked use through the whole problem found out what was wrong and she worked out a plan. She was kind, caring and followed up with us every step of the way. The best doctor!!!!! I wouldn't go to anyone else.

After years of hopping from skincare specialist to the next, I finally received the treatment I needed with Dr. Hecker. My acne has nearly completely cleared!

I waited in the waiting room for two hours. That's right. Two hours. The receptionist promised the wait would be 20 minutes. It was two hours. But I finally saw Dr. Melanie Hecker. In my view, she has very poor people skills. I found her rude and arrogant. Her listing skills were poor and her communication skills were equally poor. This is a doctor who does not think things through, does not apply logic, and talks down to her patients in my opinion.

Dr. Hecker attempted to remove a squeamish cell from my arm the size of a pin head. She used an assistant without asking me. She left me with an erratic incision 2 1/2 inches long with 14 stitches which she did in her office. It became very infected and she did not return my phone calls. I had to see another doctor for the infection and to have the stitches eventually removed. I would never advise anyone to see her.

Dr. Hecker was impressive and professional. She helped me remove my tattoo so that I could move onto a more professional job. Thanks again for everything that you did for me and my family

Dr Hecker helped me as I had a lot of skin issues and couldn't get the blemishes off of my face. She assisted in clearing up my skin before my wedding and for that I am forever thankful.
