Dr. Max Steuer, MD

It has been a year since my ACDF surgery. There was a lot of nerve damage, and I was in pain several months before the surgery. Over the year, the pain has subsided, and I am now completely pain free, have good range of motion, and feel that I am completely cured. Dr. Steuer took an extra amount of time to perform the surgery, making sure that everything was perfect surgically. His office staff is great. August was a big help. Thanks!

I am an 88-year-old man who needed Surgery. I spoke with two doctors I trust and a friend who recently underwent Surgery with Dr Steuer. All mentioned DR. Steuer’s reputation for excellence and caring demeanor and emphasized his competent staff. What I heard aligned well with my criteria for selecting a surgeon1. The positive outcome of my operation and my relatively easy recovery further validate my choice.

I had been diagnosed with Severe Spinal Serosis with myopathy. Dr. Steuer performed a spinal fusion over 1 yr. ago on C2 - C6. I was 79yrs old and very nervous about such a major surgery - especially at my age. Dr. Steuer and his entire team (especially Carter Cooper) we’re amazing. Dr.Steuer set my mind at ease right from the first consultation. He answered all my multiple questions and calmed my fears with thoughtful professional answers. Surgery went without a hitch with no complications. Recovery has gone well with no major setbacks. I am taking longer than I expected for complete recovery (minor neck stiffness, not able to walk as far as I would like) however feet and toes are not tingling and fingers have no tingling either. I would highly , highly recommend Dr. Steuer.

I had been suffering with sciatica pain for 10 weeks. It was horrific! I was up all hours of the night, pain medicine didn't work, and the orthopedic clinic I was seeing sent me to PT with no MRI and no improvement. Thankfully, a friend recommended Dr. Max Steuer as a 2nd opinion. He referred to him as the "doctor's doctor!" From the first moment I met Dr. Steuer, I felt like a person - not a number! He listened and had me in the MRI machine with insurance approval within 24 hours. He also met me immediately after my MRI to review the results. I'm 3 weeks out of surgery and have no sciatica pain! I am so pleased with Dr. Steuer and his staff that I've already referred him two friends. I now know why he's deemed the doctor's doctor in Atlanta! Btw... his staff is as incredible as he is!

Do Steuer is amazing and his staff is professional and responsive. He did lumbar fusion on me and I am now pain free and active again. He has a wonderful bedside manner and listens to all concerns while patiently explaining any questions. I was especially impressed that he encourage to put off surgery until I was unable to tolerate my condition for the best results. I healed quickly and can recommend Dr Steur highly.

Dr Steuer removed my pituitary adenoma via transphenoidal surgery over 18 years ago. I just found out that I have a meningioma on my frontal lobe. I have no fear and will put my brain in his capable hands once again.

Nice, honest, well-qualified surgeon! He performed an ALIF on me in Nov 2017. My back is a mess from 2 prior surgeries. He chose the most effective least invasive surgery for me. He was open to discussing everything and I tend to have a lot of questions. He was honest that the surgery would not make me 100% but I am so much better. Last Halloween I stood for 45 minutes and could barely walk home and had to lie on the floor for an hour to recover! This year I stood for 2 hours with no problem

My husband had spine surgery performed yesterday. Dr. Steuer and Carter are nothing less than magnificent! There is not one negative thing I can say about the Doctor and his staff! Everything was very detailed and planned accordingly. Not once was there a glitch or lack of communication. From start to finish, it could not have been more perfect. Dr. Steuer is THE best neurosurgeon. I have had many physical problems with my back and through the years he has performed 4 different procedures on me. i have complete faith and confidence in him.

I cannot recommend Dr. Steuer enough. He is extraordinarily competent. I did not want to have the procedure and switched doctors the week of my scheduled level 3 ACDF because of my confidence in him. He answered all my questions, gave me honest answers about the most likely outcomes, and was correct on all counts. 10 months after surgery, the strength in my left hand is restored, the pins and needles down my arm are gone, and most of the sensation has returned to my two numb left fingers.

Dr Steer did a discectomy surgery on my lower back and he did an excellent job. I highly recommend him.

Dr Steuer discovered my Mom's problem in just 15 minutes after she had been seeing other doctors for 10 months. His diagnosis was what my Mom needed to start feeling better. Not sure we would have ever gotten to the bottom of her issue had we not seen Dr. Steuer.
