Impossible to get in touch with
I have been trying to make an appointment with Dr Johnson and is almost impossible to do so. Ive called several times and there's no prompt to get her and I ask to make an appointment and they send to a voicemail and no one calls me back. I guess I don't need to take my business there. I'm extremely disappointed. Do better!

Dr Johnson did 5 back surgeries on me due to fractured vertebrae as well as a flattened disc, a broken rod due to a fall and a small growth on my spine. Unfortunately I have been left with foot drop and now have to walk with a cane. She rid me.of the severe back pain but now I am permanently handicapped. I have been doing rehab for 3 years in-between all the surgeries but I don't see this condition improving. I would say she did a good job, was personable and was overly optimistic that I would fully recover.

The admin assistance for Dr Michele Johnson hung up on me before I could ask all my questions. I thank God for not letting me waste my time in this office. You keep that rude admin assistant and I’ll take my 2 spine surgeries, my money, and my good insurance to a more caring, compassionate office. My advise… go elsewhere. This is after I left a message a week ago for an appointment with no call back. I chose Emory Healthcare. They were very professional answering all my questions and scheduling my second opinion appointment. It’s not hard to be nice to people but as a business I would be alarmed that an admin assistant treated a patient with potential revenue for the business poorly.

I had severe lumbar pain for four years prior to visiting Dr Johnson. I had tried injections, PT, Chiropractors and Acupuncture. None of this provided relief. Dr Johnson took one look at my MRI and said that she could fix my back. In February, she performed a 3 level fusion on my L3 to S1. It has now been seven months and I am pain free. I will tell you that the first six weeks after the surgery was painful, but after starting PT the pain was all but alleviated. I am back to walking 4 to 5 miles per day and can do most all of the chores on our farm in North Georgia. Dr Johnson is a great surgeon and has a great personality. Her staff is excellent and very accommodating. I am very pleased with the results of my surgery.

Dr. Johnson was fantastic and I have full confidence in her. She did a spine surgery to repair a herniated lumbar disc that had been progressing for many years. I was to the point I couldn't stand or walk for more than a minute at a time. The entire office staff was always great and the complimentary pre-surgery course they offer is invaluable to preparing you for the surgery and recovery. One year post op and I just took a 4 mile strenuous hike through the mountains up and down narrow and uneven terrain from ridgeline to valley and back up. It's been years since I was able to do anything even close to that. The care I received in recovery at Piedmont in Buckhead was also top notch.

Dr. Johnson is the expert I needed. If I had 4 thumbs they’d all be up. She is amazing! I had a micro-discectomy lower back surgery. material was wrapped around, pressing on and attached to my sciatic nerve. She executed the procedure flawlessly. She treated me as an individual and was patient to assess everything up front and explain every step along the way - with thorough answers to all of my questions. Professional, talented, good sense of humor, speaks where you can understand her, authentically caring. I encountered probably 50 people throughout the whole process: from her spine and back specialist office to pre-op, surgery nurses (Lanier and others), PAs, anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, post op (Emily and others) and I give each and every single person 5 stars out of 5. Piedmont Healthcare ATL gets a team win for this experience. All were Professional, courteous, caregivers, very efficient and attentive every step of the way. I recommend Dr. Michelle Johnson

Thankful for exceptional care and service. – Mar 18, 2020

I just saw Dr. Johnson today in the office. She is the best spine surgeon in Atlanta in my book. I went to her a few months ago in severe pain for over a year. I had seen other surgeons who couldn't find anything wrong me and sent me to pain management. My pain continued to get worse. My neighbor had surgery by Dr. Johnson last year with a similar issue and is now pain free and back golfing. Amazing!!! So, I made an appointment to see her. Her office staff was very caring and prompt in calling me back. Dr. Johnson saw me herself on my first visit and spent over an hour with me discussing my problem and both surgical and non-surgical options in terms I could understand. She truly cares about her patients, which is rare to find in a surgeon (in my opinion). I was scheduled for surgery, which went great!!! I am now pain free like my neighbor and have gotten my life back. She is superstar!!! I would highly recommend her to anyone considering neck or spine surgery!!!!

Unfortunately not a good review from me. I have 2 children with degenerated disks and fractured backs. I went to see Dr. Johnson on a visit for my daughter; waited 1 1/2 hours! Not one staff member offered an explanation or apology UNTIL I searched and sought after clarification...the reason- “there was an emergency”. I am a mother of 3 children and i understand emergencies, what i don’t understand or respect is the lack of efforts to communicate to a patient sitting in the office. The office staff did not have to make a phone call, they did not need to email or text; they merely had to walk down the hall and share information. I was given an apology and i moved on. I took my second child, again, i was sitting in the waiting room. After 40 minutes i asked how much longer. Now remember, they didn’t come to me; i went to them. I asked “how much longer”? Can you imagine my shock when they told me there were 4, yes 4 people still in front of us. Now this office is located in Atlanta, they

Dr Johnson is the best. She is an expert in her field and is very personable. She took time to explain my condition and personally explain the best remedy and the results that could be expected. I had a triple level fusion and came out much better than expected. I have the highest regards for her as a physician and a new friend.
