Not a pain doctor
Telehealth
Get ready to side first WAIT for an appointment to talk about nothing with a doctor who doesn’t even read your chart before your appointment. All the while listening to him go on and on about nothing. Then WAIT for the real appointment where he will actually see you in his office to assess if you really need anything. But in the meantime suffer with your pain as this doctor doesn’t care and will give you no pain medication.

I have experienced only one initial (virtual, via computer) with Dr. Hattori. I found him to be extremely professional and very engaging. He covered every aspect of my present condition, even explaining clearly and with the use of my MRI what my difficulties appeared to be. He made me feel like I mattered and he took the time to listen to me. I was very impressed and reassured that he was involved in my treatment.

Disorganized and Unprofessional
Pain management callous and superficial. The office failed to give a follow up appointment then called twice out of the blue to say they had an appointment. When the patient made it across town last minute to take the appointment, staff then informed them it was a remote visit. Arguing ensued and the doctor upon hearing the issue said, “It’s a communication issue, what’s the big deal.” There are competent doctors with professionally appropriate personnel, doctors who listen to their patients and try to embody the heart of their practice. This was a stark contrast to those offices.

Wow! What a great doctor. So happy my primary care physician referred me to him. Saw the doctor today for sciatic pain. He took the time to review with me the MRI results and explained all the treatment options. We agreed on the least aggressive one, which I appreciated it, and we'll go from there. Really nice, warm and thorough doctor. His medical assistance was also very professional. With Covid 19 it might take a while to get an appointment, but it is definitely worth it. I highly recommend Dr. Hattori for pain management.

Dr. Hattori is an anesthesiologist - not a spine care specialist. He does not listen. He is not interested in what I have to say and this is a terrible trait for a doctor. I would stay clear of Dr. Hattori for spine care pain management. He may be a good anesthesiologist but he is a failure when it comes to spine care. The office staff is is quite good.

Dr. Hattori sends a medical assistant to come in the initial time to type in information in a computer. He himself did not come in the room until after this was complete. I thought was strange. It was like playing telephone.

Never would recommend Dr. Masami Hattori, not even to my enemies. I have severe chronic pain, I was under his care for almost four years, the whole Time bedriden He is afraid to prescribe pain meds because he says he will loose his job. I have a fussion in my lower back, I also had a herniated disc bulge removed and I also fractured 17 vertebrates. My back collapsed and is now cemented from my tail bone to my neck. He will not prescribe over the Fda recomandation even white exceptions. zero.
