OFFICE STAFF
Dr. Mary Scanlon is the best doctor I have ever had, HOWEVER, the staff at that office STINKS!!!I called with medical concern at being sick, an immunocompromised patient, short of breath, pain when breathing, coughing, weakness, dizzy and requesting to see the Dr. The person who answered the phone tells me 'We can get you in a week from Thursday' So, I am a sick patient, with an active illness, and lets wait another 10 days so that I can truly be dead before I see the DR. I love Dr. Scanlon, but why have a Primary Dr, if you cannot ever get treatment from them?

Great doctor but poor staff
Dr. Scanlon is an excellent doctor and I like her but her staff is totally inadequate. You can't ever get someone on the phone to get an appointment and forget leaving a message, they will not call you back. Her office it not run well at all and it's also run very old school, which doesn't work today. You cannot have a rude staff that's inadequate and keep your patients happy. Something really needs to be done about how the office run because it's harming the office and its reputation. I'll probably have to find another doctor b/c this office is totally unrealiable.

Great doctor who unfortunately doesn't care that her staff is consistently unhelpful and rude to patients. There is no excuse for this, it's been going on for years.

The Best Doctor in the county; no question
I did not want to write too much but I had no choice. I wanted to say that Dr. Mary Scanlon is the best doctor in the county and possibly beyond. Just one thing that spoils the broth. Her front desk staff are the worst kind of individuals I have ever come across. They are rude, aggressive and just despicable human beings. No tolerance for the elderly and deliberately ignore you while pretending to be busy. There are just two women in particular; one wears scrubs and has a kind of blonde hair and the other one is an overweight Hispanic looking woman and just looks for an argument. If you ask a simple question you get a tong lashing, and it just makes you wonder why such despicable individuals are allowed to have any interaction with patients. People who are obviously not well and come to the doctor need respect and that is why you go there. I know staff are hard to find, but I am certain that Dr. Scanlon has no idea what goes on at her reception. Great Doctor otherwise.

Dr. Scanlon is wonderful. I highly recommend her. Beware though, her front office help is horrendous. They say they will call back with the information you need and never do. This has been going on for years and never changes. Called back today after waiting for 4 days to get an answer and they said the same thing "we will pull your chart and call you back" the office has closed for the weekend and I never got a call back. The information I am looking for is simple, nothing to do with appointment, refill or referral.

My wife made an appointment on Monday, we have been going to her for over 3 years. She was put on hold for 18 minutes and told a date, a day, and a time, to be that same week two days later. When checking in at front deck they couldn't find her file. They shifted to paper work for a change of address. She quickly told them that we had the same address for 40 years. Come to find out, they claimed she had the wrong day. The mistake might could be justified, however the Doctor has put both our appointments off, for almost three months. I do not have any problem with the Doctor herself and her ability, just her staff and there training.

I have been going to Dr. Scanlon for years. She has seen me thru cancer, and many other things. She explains everything to you and treats you like your the only patient and not rush you thru. I moved to NC and though about driving down once a year to see her that is how much I liked her. But realize i need someone up her. she is the best I will miss her so much. Just be patient with the office staff. I take that time to read.
