This man makes more money lying for insurance companies so they don’t pay out. Travelers made me go see them when my surgeon said I needed surgery and he said I only had soft tissue damage, when in fact I had one disc replaced and one fused. He admitted he made 2 million testifying for insurance companies. Do your research and find a honest doctor… trust me it’s not this man

Gave me my Life Back
I had a five level TLIF fusion surgery performed by Dr Spoonamore. Prior to this surgery I had a three level laminectory, discectomy performed by a neurosurgeon with the understanding that I would eventually need fusion surgery. I knew when the time came as the pain became unbearable. It took fentanyl to control the pain. Dr Spoonamore performed the 5 level fusion at Keck USC Hospital. When I woke up, I immediately felt relief in my left leg. They got me up and I already had more strength in my left leg. Since this surgery, my pain is controlled (I’m off of 190 mg oral opioids which I had been on for over a decade. I am able to walk my dog, hike and even backpack (something I never thought I’d do again). I’m able to ride my motorcycle and partake in most activities. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, Dr Spoonamore deserves a 12. I have had three spinal surgeries by three different doctors. If you need spinal surgery, I highly recommend Dr Spoonamore!

Exceptional skill
Dr Spoonamore is outstanding. He has fused my neck and lower back for me. Excellent outcomes for both. He is caring and treats you as an individual. Only complaint is his surgery scheduler. She is a nightmare to get returned calls or emails from.

Dr Spoonamore did a laminectomy and fusion of L4-5 for me this last May. Fantastic outcome from debilitating spinal stenosis. I’m back playing Pickleball, and traveling with no pain, weakness or numbness in my legs. I was so happy to have found him. He is skilled and has a great bedside manner.

Dr. Spoonamore attended to my Mom while she was in ICU at UCI Medical Center. She was in a terrible accident and almost lost her arm. Dr. Spoonamore did surgery to repair her severed wrist and reattached vital arteries, etc. He did an outstanding job in surgery and the after care that she received was awesome. He explained everything to her and to our family. He has a wonderful caring manner. We will always be grateful to him. Thank you.

I feel so lucky that I decided to trust my cervical fusion to Dr. Spoonamore. He is not only an amazing surgeon, but he always gives me the time and attention I need to feel that I am in good hands. This feeling is reinforced by the fact that every single thing he's said about my surgery and healing progress has turned out to be true. I had no choice but to have a surgery at 40, but I did have a choice in who would operate on me, and I will always be grateful to Mark for giving me my life back.
