Total left knee replacement.
Dr. Shekhman explained the process of a total knee replacement so that my husband and I understood what was going to happen. He answered any and all questions that were asked. Also, he was truthful about the pain and how much work it was to get better. At 13 weeks post-op, my knee hasn’t felt this good in over a year. I would recommend Dr. Shekhman to anyone thinking about this surgery.

Provided Firm and Confident Direction
I knew I wasn't in good shape but was afraid of the finality of having hip replacement surgery -Dr Shekhman had MRI as well as Xray information of my hip joint and with my wife present told me in a firm but confident manner that I needed my hip joint replaced - now 3 months after the surgery I'm able to walk longer distances and help around the house more and be more independent .

Very Good Surgeon
Dr. Shekhman is a very good surgeon who performed my Left Hip replacement on May 9th 2024. He was very cautious with me due to other cardiac issues, and had me stay over night for additional observation. The surgery was a complete success and I would recommend him to anyone in need of a Hip replacement. He was very professional and personal. If I ever need a Right Hip Replacement I would go to him first. As a point of reference; I am 12 weeks out of surgery at this time and feel great, and I am wondering why I waited so long. I have returned to golfing and am pain free.

Partial knee replacement
Procedure went well. Had a physical therapist come in 5 visits in 3 weeks. She helped me with the proper way to do my list of exercises. Week one: walked with a walker. Week 2: walked with a cane. Week 3: walked without assistance. After Dr. Shekhman review it was determined that no more therapy was necessary. I'm back to playing golf & mowing the lawn. Thanks Doc.

Dr. Mark Shekhman
I recently underwent total hip replacement with Dr. Shekhman and I would highly recommend him to anyone. He was very professional and thoroughly explained the entire process to me beforehand. He was also very friendly and professional. It is only just over two weeks past surgery and I am able to drive again and the recovery and physical therapy are going very well. With regards to Orthopedic Associates, every employee was helpful and welcoming. Also, I experienced no delays in waiting and everything was on time. Thank you for everything.

Mistakes were made
Left knee replacement 11/28. 4 days later significant bleed through on dressing. Got to office for second dressing and noticed a small opening at base of incision. Bleed again and back for another dressing. When I questioned him, his response was “everyone is different- too hard to explain “. Seriously? Three days later I ended up in HH ER for 4 days with severe cellulitis and massive antibiotic treatment. Then rehab for a week. I have no doubt the infection entered my leg through this open area. During all this, I never once heard from him - not even “I’m sorry this happened to you” obviously to me he is covering his behind. This trauma has eliminated my ever having the other knee done. He’s probably a good technician but no humanity there.

Pre knee replacement appointment. First time meeting this insecure, arrogant, ignorant, god complex guy. Mostly concerned with the finances of surgery of which he felt compelled to share with me throughout the visit. I’m not looking for a good bedside manner just not a close minded ignorant doc. I don’t really waste time righting reviews but this guy was by far worst med worker I’ve ever met. If you’re looking for someone with accountability if there’s an issue I’m sure this isn’t your guy.

Terrible!
My mother went to see him for her severe hip and back pain and he dismissed her and told her that she needs to go back to work. She's a City bus driver and told her that he wishes he had an easy job like her to sit down all day. Unprofessional, rude, no compassion. Furthermore, he told her that my mother's orthopedist does not what he is talking about regarding her condition. Stay Away from this Doctor!

Grateful for a hip replacement
Second hip replacement by Dr. Shekhman and his support team. The whole process was smooth and seamless. A patient portal was integral to the success, providing videos and exercises customized to the need. Highly recommend engaging in a visit and perhaps surgery if needed. Worth every bit of time invested to be able to walk painlessly within 2 weeks. Thank you to all involved.
