A Legend! (In his own mind)
Good initial presentation seems caring and competent, but does not listen to patient concerns and in fact views any question as direct criticism…. which he does not handle well. I would not recommend him as a surgeon.

Dr. Lucarelli was an excellent doctor. He took the time to explain everything to me before the surgery, and even spoke to me during surgery to let me know what was happening at the time. Post Op follow up was outstanding also. I couldn't have picked a better doctor to do my ectropion eye repair. Even his office staff at the Rockford office was outstanding. The best doctor's experience I've ever had. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

It's hard to put into words how grateful I am to Dr. Lucarelli for the excellent care I received during a long, difficult bout with thyroid eye disease. Other Ophthalmologists were unable to provide answers or options leaving me frustrated and overwhelmed. From the initial visit, I knew he was an answer to a prayer. He will always be considered a blessing to me. I went from being distraught about my eyesight, the pain, and my appearance to feeling and looking like myself again. I would highly recommend Dr. Lucarelli and have already done so more than once. He is truly a credit to his profession! Not only because of the depth of knowledge, understanding and treatment of diseases that effect the eyes.  But also because of his kind, compassionate care.  A thousand thanks to an awesome doctor!!

Dr. Lucarelli is top in his field. He repaired a MOHS surgery very close to my eye. He has a terrific bedside manner, showing confidence and understanding. It has been 7 months, and the repair Dr. Lucarelli did blends in with my natural lines of my eye. He far exceeded my expected outcome. I would recommend him to my closest family and friends.

I have orbital decompression done to both of my eyes. I couldn't be more please with Dr. Mark Lucarelli. He answered all my questions and assure me that I am in good hands. He made sure I am comfortable with the procedures and explain all the risks. If there are concerns or questions that I needed to address after my visit, it was easy for me to reach his team and himself for answers. Overall, I am very happy that I chose him as my surgeon for this procedure.

Fixed both eyelids — now I can see much better. He is excellent and clearly focused on his patients needs, rather than just making money for UW. Strongly recommend !

Dr Lucarelli fixed a ptosis on one of my eyes that another "surgeon" had botched 7 years ago. I struggled those years with a compromise to my vision which led to headaches and fatigue. Add to that the comments that I always looked tired and my refusal to have my photo taken. Dr Lucarelli and his entire team took great care of me. Immediately after the surgery my visual field had improved. I had no pain after the surgery and a very small amount of bruising. Thank you Dr Lucarelli.
