Glad She's Retiring
More power to the people who had a good experience with her. Months later and I'm still trying to undo the negative effects of the changes I made at her suggestion. It was bad enough I pulled favors to get in with another doctor faster than the 4 month wait list. That doctor assumed I was misspeaking when I listed my medications and dosages since they were so low. Luckily she's retiring in the fall.

Disappointed
I have been seeing Dr. Iourno for 5 years. I always feel that she is in a rush. At my last visit prior to coming in the room she contacted a patient the whole conversation was on speaker phone. I heard the whole conversation including patients name, pharmacy and medications. She seemed frazzled by the time she came to see and did not even perform an exam. It’s so hard to find a doctor that actually listens and is generally concerned about your health.

Dr. Iuorno was very friendly, thorough and professional. I actually had questions after my visit, which I directed to her through the portal, and she got back to me right away! She even called me to further explain my lab results when I had additional questions. Waiting time is a pretty big deal for me, as I have a couple of other Physicians, that I wait on forever, and have even changed Doctors because of it, but Dr. Iuorno adheres to her schedule very well. Her staff was really wonderful! I do recommend!

Dr. Iuorno was the worst doctor I’ve ever had the misfortune of seeing. She told me to stop taking a medication that I subsequently discovered was emphatically labeled to NEVER STOP ABRUPTLY. Consequently, within 36 hours I began to experience nausea, headaches, hand tremors and general feelings of being ill. My PCP diagnosed withdrawal and I finally had to go back on the drug and then taper off as directed. Unfortunately, the damage was done and it took two full months to begin to feel somewhat normal again.

My first appointment with Dr. Iuorno, via telehealth due to Covid-19, went great! I immediately felt comfortable and appreciated how thoroughly & patiently she explained everything. Even after living 18 yrs with my condition, I learned a lot of new and helpful information. She asked a lot of questions and really took her time getting to know me. She's a warm and obviously very knowledgeable & experienced doctor. I think she likes what she does! The office staff are wonderful as well. I couldn't be more pleased with my new Endocrinologist.

I feel compelled to respond to a review left May 2020. I don't know the person or their medical problems, and they surely seem serious, and for that I am truly sorry. In fairness to Doctor Iuorno, we should acknowledge her professionalism and compliance with privacy laws will not permit her to fill in critical details that would allow us to make a fair assessment of the review of those visits. I want to assure anyone considering an initial visit to Doctor Iuorno, you will meet a highly principled, extremely well-educated, kind, humble person that will treat you more like a friend, than just another client. She has been spot on with every suggestion she has considered for me and sought my wife's and my feelings and comments. She has never been rushed or uninterested in dealing with us, and we could not be more pleased to be under her care! She has helped me immeasurably dealing with the unexpected mental & emotional strain of diabetes. She is a top of the line person & physician.

Dr. Maria Iuorno took so much time with my daughter exploring all her many physical issues and medications. In the end her medication was not correct for her diabetes which she adjusted and the outcome is certainly noticeable! A updated monitoring system was introduced to help her with monitoring her sugar which had been a very large problem for my daughter! Thanks to Dr. Iuorno we will always seek out her help before going back to the G.P.

I have been going to Dr. Iuorno for nearly 10 years since my previous endocrinologist was lackadaisical in helping me get my thyroid levels therapeutic, as I was trying to get pregnant. Dr. Iuorno has helped me to regulate my thyroid so that I was able to get pregnant and maintain therapeutic levels throughout my pregnancy. She is supportive, provides me with needed information in order for me to make my own decisions and includes me in the plan of care.

I am not happy with her . I have visited her couple times when I was in Richmond. But she is too fast does not take time to listen to you much. and she gave increased my dose which was not needed for my hypothyroid . When I asked her why we need to increase I was been taking this dose since many years. she said based on the result you need to, But with that increase I had lot of hair fall and weight imbalance.

Dr. Maria Iuorno is not only one of the most knowledgeable, ethical and sincere physicians but has as her foremost concern the patient's best interest and well being. Having resolved my endocrine issue she continued to be concerned about residual symptoms being experienced and took time to review my medical record, making a very important observation, while recommending a physician in another speciality. That proved to be her amazing contribution to my health. Her thoughtful care is unique!

I have been a patient of Dr. Iuorno for a few years now. She has truly been a huge help in managing my Diabetes. She is always friendly, knowledgeable, and concerned for my health. Since I began seeing her my A1C and overall health has improved drastically. I truly think it is due to her care and guidance. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of an endocrinologist.

Dr. Iuorno's been my endocrinologist for 8+ years, and I don't know what I'd do without her. I have the best control of my Type 1 Diabetes I've ever had (last A1C was 5.5), she found my PCOS during our initial visit, and has been my teammate through two cancer diagnoses within the last 7 years. She is a no fuss, no non-sense doctor who will do what it takes to get your health on the right track: I am so thankful I found her!

Dr. Iuorno is my favorite doctor - always pleasant, always concerned, always listens. I have found her to be an excellent diagnostician. There was a particular occasion when some specialists thought I had one (serious) thing. Dr. Iuorno disagreed and said it was something else (quite less serious), sent me for tests, and she was spot on. She also takes the time to call you with results of routine tests - I don't think every doctor does that. The staff are always very nice to deal with.

Doctor Iuorno has been my doctor for over ten years she is on of caring person that I have had to treat me. When she started treating me my diabetes was out of control and I had been treated by numerous doctor's in the past. I can honestly say if it had not been her treating me and couching me over the years I do not believe I would have been here to celebrate my 65th birthday. Thank you Dr. Iuorno. Fayette Moore I
