Horrible experience
I went in after a referral from my primary doctor. He did not listen and yelled at me about things. I felt like a number and he has horrible bedside manner. Did not explain much other than make me feel horrible and would not answer many questions and when I was explaining something to him he would just continue to yell at me. Would not recommend him.

His expertise changed my life
Dr Assar saw me the morning after I was in the emergency room as he was referred by another cardiologist. He performed a heart ablation the very next day and after years of being in a fib a flutter, I no longer have it. Highly recommend him . He’s friendly, direct and to the point and knows his field of cardiology.

One of the worst medical experiences I’ve ever had
This is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a doctor. Extremely unprofessional and belittled me the entire time. Just reviewed my records through the patient’s portal app of our last visit and he ignored all my concerns and complaints and none were addressed or mentioned in my report. When I explained and expressed my concerns about my heart rate reading over 180 when working out and his response was “well yeah, you’re working out with heart problems”He also stated that I was over exaggerating about my condition. I have a dual lead pacemaker that was implanted when I was 16. He basically told me he didn’t believe my story and said he would not until he would receive my medical records (which were in the process of being sent to him). This man made me feel beyond uncomfortable and the reason I don’t want to return to better my own health. I expressed to the staff and him before going in my ptsd with having this condition. He basically said that I needed to get over it.

Uncomfortable
I was referred to Doctor Assar by my previous cardiologist. The level of care I was receiving had been amazing up to this point. I went in excited to talk about and figure out what could be going on and he met me with condescending tone and rushed conversation. His demeanor came across as very annoyed and he possessed little to no empathy. I get that people have bad days, but I felt very brushed off. He asked question after question and came across very judgmental. My brain doesn’t work fast enough to formulate answers in the amount of time he was throwing these questions at me either, so I froze and shut down. The way the visit was handled left me feeling discarded, invalidated, bulldozed, and uncomfortable. I usually don’t leave such extreme reviews with just one star, but I don’t believe this man should be in practice until he addresses whatever is causing him to act the way he does. Hopefully this review will help-validate others in their experiences and-or prevent future issues.

Appropriate Technology Heart Guy
My internist sent me to Dr. Assar to check out a possible heart problem. Dr. Assar did an EKG, chatted with me about possible symptoms, pronounced my heart okay, asked me to return next year. Repeated this for two additional years, when he said come back in two years--not wanting to waste my time or money. Nice guy. Takes enough time. Listens to questions. Explains answers. Minimalist. In person during pandemic--2020-2022. Planning to return for 2024 checkup. All good with me.

Dr. Assar was the doctor on call for the practice and acted as if my call concerning my mother’s life-threatening heart condition was the greatest annoyance of his life. Terribly rude and pompous. He is a liability to this practice of otherwise excellent physicians and caregivers.

HES RUDE. HES CARELESS. HES NEGLIGENT. As for Dr. Assar, he came into my treadmill test yelling at me about arguing with his staff. It was very unprofessional behavior and should not ever have been exhibited during a stress test. There is appropriate times and places to express ones concerns. This could have messed up my stress test, as Dr. Assar was in my face yelling at me. Dr. Assar also only looked over 3 days of my 30 day heart monitor. We had to catch his mistake saying tha

I would NEVER refer anyone to him. He was very condescending, didn't even look at my chart. He asked how old I was? Brushed my questions off, as if they were silly and irrelevant. He offered no explanation or sense of empathy. He did not see me long. I didn't feel comfortable asking question or telling him any other issues I experienced. I would NEVER refer anyone to him. I'm sure he's great at what he does, but I couldn't tell. I didn't gain knowledge or confidence I was in good hand
