It is a blessing being under the care of a doctor who sets the highest bar in medicine, yet his humanity exceeds that.He is an angel who does magical work. His unmatched expertise as a brilliant surgeon, unparalleled empathy and unending kindness, have truly eased this difficult journey. He's earned the utmost respect of his patients and colleagues for good reason. Three of my doctors recommended Dr. Dawson as 'the best general surgeon.' He's not just an extraordinary doctor. He's an extraordinary human being. I landed in the ER with an emergency prior to surgery, and Dr. Dawson was flying internationally. He texted me all night while flying, and coordinated my care with exceptional guidance. Who does that? Only Dr. Dawson! It has been an absolute privilege being under his care. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Dawson. As an RN, I knew his reputation of excellence both as a healthcare professional and from personal physician recommendations. Everything from the initial visit, to the surgery, to the final post operative visit exceeded my expectation in every way. Not only is an an outstanding surgeon, he is a wonderful human being with an exceptional bedside manner. You can't do better than Dr. Dawson!

I cannot say enough about this doctor and his office. I was at Mt Sinai and they had lost all my ultrasounds for my hernia. I needed surgery as soon as possible and was complexly ignored by Mt Sinai. I called Dr Dawson's office and 2 hours later I was sitting in his private office drinking a Pelligrino and him explaining was what needed to be done. Kimberely, at his front desk, physically went to the surgery center to confirm I was on a payment plan. Seriously, If you need top care, this is the place to go!!!

Dr Dawson is an absolute blessing! He did an amazing job as my surgeon. His “bedside” manner is both totally professional and totally caring! I visited Dr. Dawson for a pilonidal cyst removal procedure after being pitched by another surgeon an incredibly invasive alternative with a several-month homebound recovery. With Dr. Dawson's minimally invasive approach, I had surgery on Thursday and was back to work the following Monday, feeling great! Dr. Dawson spent considerable time with me, walking through the procedure, my alternatives, and answering my questions. He followed up frequently with me the days before and after the procedure. At no point did I feel uncomfortable with the process!

My surgery with Dr. Dawson and overall experience was above and beyond my expectations. He is caring, informative, highly skilled and professional. He provides amazing personalized care every step of the way from consult, pre/post op care and is always accessible. Never had such a positive experience and highly recommend Dr. Dawson.

Dr. Dawson seems like a great doctor. He is very thorough and seems to know his stuff. The problem here is the system he has built. He does not take insurance and the amount he charges you is entirely based on a number he makes up based on the maximum he thinks you can afford. The first consultation was $600 - when he learned I worked in a field that has traditionally paid well, it increased. The alignments are all messed up here - because he only gets paid in first consultations or surgeries, there is extreme pressure to do surgeries. This was evident when his colleague Kimberly guilt tripped me for scheduling and canceling surgery twice. Surgery is a very scary thing (at least for me) and to be told I inconvenienced Dr. Dawson's billing office because they had to get multiple quotes was downright insulting. Dr. Dawson alone, awesome, Dr. Dawson with the combo of no insurance, shady billing practices, and surgery pressure? No thanks.

I saw Dr. Dawson for diastisis recti repair and from our first meeting he was kind, thoughtful and reassuring. He helped me connect with a post-operative nurse and after surgery followed up daily. He literally changed my life. I've had a few surgeries and the care and attention Dr. Dawson provided is like nothing I've experienced. I whole heartedly recommend Dr. Dawson!

The most experienced, caring and genuine doctor! I saw Dr Dawson for an inguinal hernia, he recommended the surgery but was never pushy, he explained the surgical procedure thoroughly which makes me feel very comfortable and totally confident. He also contacted my fertility doctor to make sure that everything can work well and to coordinate the best timing. The whole process went very easy and smooth with his staff, from the beginning to the end, Dr Dawson was the most caring and attentive person by following up every day after the surgery and being reachable if I had any questions or concerns. I cannot recommend a better doctor than him.

Warm reception- excellent staff, and Dr. Dawson explains surgery with care and supportive to patient questions and his knowledge in newest technologies is outstanding. From beginning to end, the patient is a priority whether it’s a phone call to check in with recovery, or availability to get in touch with him if a question should arise.

I had a TRIPLE hernia repair performed by Dr. Dawson robotically, and it was the best decision I could've possible made. My GP referred me to Dr. Dawson when I wanted a second opinion, and after Dr. Dawson explained the difference between laparoscopic vs robotic surgery (which wasn't even an option with the other doctor), it was an easy decision - especially as I had a previous hernia surgery and the accuracy of robotic was of extreme importance, for reasons I won't go into. Yes Dr. Dawson is great to deal with and has an easy "bedside manner", which is nice but that wasn't as important to me. If you - like me - think it is more important to have a great doctor who has the experience/skills to use the most sophisticated med tech in the procedure, which obviously benefits the patient in multiple ways, than I highly recommend Dr. Dawson! FYI I have never wrote a review of a doctor, but Dr. Dawson earned it.

Dr. Dawson is the most outstanding doctor I've ever had in terms of both medical expertise and patient care. Dr. Dawson is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and explained my hernia condition and the surgical procedure thoroughly and clearly. He took great care to form the treatment plan based on my specific medical profile and personal needs. His pre- and postoperative instructions were clear and comprehensive, not only taking into account the recovery from the operation but also the overall wellbeing of the patient. Dr. Dawson performed my surgery successfully and smoothly, and I was very impressed by his warm, kind and considerate bedside manner. After the procedure, Dr. Dawson followed up everyday and addressed all of my concerns immediately. His office staff are very professional, friendly, competent and efficient. Underlying Dr. Dawson's excellent medical practice is his kindness and genuine desire to help patients get well. A true healer at heart.

Within a couple of minutes of your first consultation with Dr. Dawson, you know your research has led you to the best. He sincerely cares about his patient. Takes the time to get to know you and clearly describes what is the recommended course of action. Dr. Dawson is extremely attentive. He follows up with you frequently before and after surgery--he is always available if you need him. I was walking around same day of my inguinal hernia surgery and feel virtually fully recovered a week later. His Patient Coordinators are amazing as well.
