Dr. Lige Kaplan, MD

I had a hip replacement in early 2023 with Dr. Kaplan. At first everything seemed to be going well. At 8 weeks I started to feel like my recovery slowed way down.I went in 3x and was told the x-rays were fine and give it time.I started to get worse at 11 mo so saw Dr. Kaplan again. He again said the x-ray looked good and sent me to a colleague for an injection. The colleague, looking at the xray from Dr. Kaplan, said that I had a bigger problem that an injection wouldn’t help and I needed to go back to Dr.Kaplan. It turns out I had a loose stem that started to show up on the x-rays at 12 wks which would have been seen if they had zoomed in on the x-rays. I am now recovering from a revision from a different dr. It sounds most likely that it wasn’t done correctly in the first place. Aside from having to have a revision, my biggest frustration is that I felt like I was being blown off and not taken seriously for a year.

He did my knee replacement on Feb 1 2022. I was still having major pain in the knee and down the shin. H said he didn't know what was wrong. Did not even try to find out and said that I should get a 2nd opinion. I went to my brother-in-laws doctor and he said maybe the spacer is too small. So he did all kinds of test to rule out infection and to make sure the unit itself wa ok. He moved my leg around and it is loose Doctor Kaplan never would even touch the leg to find out So going in on March 5th to put a larger spacer in and hopefully that will stop the pain. May never get rid of the pain down my shin Hurts more than before the knee replacement. So unhappy Dr. Kaplan didn't even try to fund out.

Dr kaplan is engaged with his patients, willing to take the time with you. He is warm and puts you at ease. He did an excellent job and I am recovering ahead of schedule. Would highly recommend this dr.

Dr. Kaplins team is patient focused and very professional. Dr. Kaplins skills are excellent but his support staff are just as good. He came highly recommended and I agree with those recommendations. I had both knees replaced and give Dr. Kaplin and his team an A+.

Dr Kaplan is an exceptional Orthopedic Surgeon. My initial knee replacement became infected and was "cleaned out" by a different surgeon. It became infected yet again. Dr. Kaplan preformed a more complicated knee reconstruction surgery. Six months later, infection has cleared and the new knee is great! I was very impressed by his professionalism, compassion and surgical skills. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a skilled surgeon.

Smart, caring, technically superb. Would recommend him. Hate that his office wants patients to email questions or call a switchboard. He is great.

Was having hip pain-went in, got an X-ray and consultation and thorough diagnosis. Dr Kaplan and Dr Gonzalez, very professional, patient and kind. Highly recommend.

I think a lot of Dr. Kaplan. He did a total hip replacement in December. I was walking with a walker for three days and with a cane for a few days. Pain was minimal and my incision healed perfect. I would highly recommend Dr. Kaplan to anyone.

Very pleased with visit. Happy my hips are still good but sorry my problem is my back. He has an astounding reputation for hips. New Dr very nice too.

First meeting with this dr. He has a very calming tone and personality. Very thorough, went over xrays and possible actions depending on MRI results. Definitely would recommend.

Dr. K took a lot of time with us to explain what he saw on the X-ray, and even predicted the positions and activities that were limited and painful. His bedside manner was warm and thoughtful. There wasn’t a question he didn’t answer. Not only was the right hip surgery successfully executed, but the recovery time was reduced due to the less invasive surgical technique. We are now going back for the left hip, and have every confidence in him.

Dr Kaplan was discreet, easy to speak with and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend him for your orthopedic needs.

Dr. Lige Kaplan performed bilateral total hip replacement on me in the summer of 2020. I could not be happier. 3 hours after the operation I was able to stand and walk. I regained my mobility and is able to live my life pain free. I recommend Dr. Kaplan to anyone who suffers with hip pain.

Dr. Kaplan has poor bedside manners. He did a total hip replacement for me February 2018 in Michigan... and never Ever ordered me physical therapy but yet I was expected to go back to work beginning of May... I couldn’t even get up and down the stairs without hanging on the rail and struggling. I had to call and make an appointment to see him in order to get a prescription for physical therapy.. When I asked him why did you not order me physical therapy.. His reply to me was a lot of people don’t have insurance that pay for physical therapy that’s why I didn’t Order it! Are you serious why don’t you leave it up to the patient to seek therapy if they have the medical coverage.. It is now going on October 2020 I’ve been in horrific pain and everybody I see tells me I should’ve been doing physical therapy the day he released me from the hospital..., thumbs down to Dr. Kaplan that’s probably why he moved to Arizona

First visit for knee replacement. Dr Kaplan was very thorough and answered all my questions. I feel very comfortable and positive with him to be my surgeon going forward.
