Dr. Leah Urbanosky, MD

Dr. Urbanosky takes the time to do a full examination and listens to any and all of your complaints. She explains all the options and is a very honest caring doctor. She looks at the whole person and does not rush to surgery unless there is no other option.

Awful experience. Please choose someone else if you can. My son was seen by Dr Urbanosky. My toddler son had a broken collarbone the day before, and the hospital recommended going to an orthopedic to follow up. Due to his pain he was not letting anyone touch him. Dr Urbanosky enters the room, spends two minutes baby-talking to my son (again, no touching), another three minutes talking to my wife and I, and we exit. Besides the mild annoyance of the baby-talking and waiting, the visit was fine. Then we receive a bill for "Fix Clavicle", and "Surgery" is listed on our EOB, along with the office visit charge. Despite our objections that this is clearly a mistake we have gotten nowhere. Hundreds of dollars of overcharging, and we either pay up or take the hit on our credit for standing up. It's been months now, and I'm done fighting this. Very frustrated with their charging for services neither rendered nor received. Again, an awful experience.

Update to my review on 2/20/19: I have had nothing but issues with my left hand since writing that review in February. We waited in the exam room for over 90 minutes and I was asked to review my experience. I had no issues at that moment and miraculously the doctor appeared a couple minutes after my review posted after waiting for over 90 minutes. There were issues with getting the proper “form” for my rehab after surgery and by the time I saw or spoke with someone from her office weeks had passed. My hand worse now after she “fixed “ it than before the operation. These are my feelings and the outcome of my experiences with this doctor and her office. I now have to have the surgery again and there is scar tissue built up and issues with my thumb that were not there prior to this surgery. I’m in CONSTANT PAIN AND NOW HAVE LIMITED MOBILITY!!!! After this experience, I would not recommend this doctor!

Terrific patient experience with Dr. Urbanosky from initial consult through surgery and upon completing my rehab. Her experience, expertise, and friendliness made me feel right at home and cared for. The team at Hinsdale Orthopedics was also excellent. This is a great medical practice, I’d openly and enthusiastically endorse their group to any potential patient in the greater Chicago area.

She thoroughly explained what was wrong and all treatment options available. We chose the best one which was surgery. She did an excellent job on my thumb and I believe this attributed to my speedy recovery. Dr Urbanosky was always available to answer any questions or concerns I had. I am so glad I chose her as my doctor and you will be too.

Dr. Urbanosky was great with my 8 year old. She was kind and patient and answered all our questions. The rest of the staff was also very knowledgeable and very nice.

Dr Urbanosky is great. She took the tine to understand my problems and created a plan to treat them. She is patient with questions. Dr needed to do surgery on my hand. It was a good experience and I healed great. Dr Urbanosky wants to make you feel comfortable and understand. I highly recommend Dr Urbanosky!

Always running behind. The usual wait time is 45 mins to 2 hours behind scheduled time. It is very frustrating!

Can’t say enough good things about our experience with Dr Urbanosky! We had an emergency situation with my husband experiencing a frozen shoulder. Dr Urbanosky was so efficient, kind and understanding, making sure to go through options and hold off on doing anything that wasn’t necessary! Extremely pleased with our experience!

She spends the appropriate time with her patients that is necessary the explain their condition and the appropriate treatment. Great bedside manner.

Dr. Leah is a fantastic person and a great and caring surgeon, having done right shoulder surgery (three years ago) and carpal tunnel and trigger finger work on my left hand yesterday (6/21/2016). She is surrounded by competent personnel and, as a result, I will have her do future surgeries anytime necessary. Great bedside manner, fantastic and funny personality and I recommend her to all those contemplating shoulder/hand surgery. If I could give her 10 stars, I wouldn't hesitant.

Dr.Urbanosky is simply the best!From day one she put me at ease and explained all my options and when it came time for my surgery her staff made me feel at home, I'm extremely squeemish and don't do well in a hospital environment but from the front desk staff to the nurses and anesthesiologist who came in and made me feel at ease and of course the good Dr. she came in before the surgery to again explain everything and making me feel so relaxed.

I would definitely recommend Dr Urbanosky. She is very professional and courteous. She always took the time to explain everything to me and answered all my questions and concerns. She made sure the Occupational Therapist had detailed guidelines so that my theraphy was successful.

I felt very comfortable with Dr. Urbanosky. She attempted to reconcile my hand and wrist issues without surgery. Unfortunately, that did not work out and I had surgery on my wrist which went very well. I no longer have the pain and other symptoms that I had before. I would go back for other extremity concerns.
