I have been seeing Dr. Kimsey for 22 years. He is an expert in medication levels and knows how treat affective disorders of all kinds, as he has years of experience. He is not a psychoanalyst, so his conversation with you will be very practical. He will work with you to come with a treatment plan.

Kimsey lacking a bedside manner is an understatement. He immediately told me that he doesn't think I have depression despite my history of suicidal ideation/attempts, as well as other glaring symptoms such as oversleeping, lacking self-care, and disinterest in most activities. However, I was smiling and joking, so I guess I'm not depressed. He also said that he had other patients that were far worse than I was, which I guess was meant to be comforting, but just came off as him trying to tell me I'm not that bad and that I'm overthinking things. He was just overall rude and blunt in ways that were completely unhelpful and made it seem like he didn't understand my situation. Not to mention the office staff are also very rude. I have ADHD and I'm a little scatter brained, but they were always very short with me if I couldn't remember something fast enough. Not great for a place treating people for mental health. Kimsey is just far too full of himself and will not budge on his ideals.

Dr. Kimsey possesses rare insight, skill, and professionalism among the mental health care professionals of my acquaintance, including personal friends and colleagues. Whether due to natural talent, experience, or a combination of the two, his diagnoses and courses of treatment are optimal. He takes important measures to protect the confidentiality of patients which do not occur with most doctors, but is not afraid to be open to a patient if he feels a colleague has mistreated the patient. He seems absolutely patient-focused rather than career-focused. If you want a doctor who will put himself ahead of you, Dr. Kimsey is the last person you want to go to. His receptionist seems very wisely chosen. She seems to have a photographic memory, and her kindness and professionalism make his practice even better.

I would never consider going anywhere else. Dr Kimsey is by far the best Doctor in his profession that I have known in the past 18 years since I was first diagnosed while living in Florida. His up front and consoling aptitude for my situation is comforting yet informative.
