Can I give a negative star?
Has SEVERE weight stigma in treating you. Dismisses you and any concerns you bring. Multiple times had to tell her what was written in my chart from previous visits (such as diagnosis and lab results). Appeared to have a predetermined diagnosis and annoyed my results did not agree with her predetermined diagnosis. Offered extreme solutions to one of my concerns. One told me to do a SEVERELY EXTREME lifestyle change that would have been dangerous to me. (she did not ask my any questions about my lifestyle) When I mentioned this concern became loud stating that I didn't want to make changes and clearly don't have any will power. Please consider another provider if you are not a fan of weight stigma, have a history of an eating disorder, or would just like to be heard during your appointment. * Note I've been to this office multiple times, I've never had a problem with the staff or my normal doctor. She was available for an early appointment, so I accepted, I won't do again.

-Poor explanation, vague responses - Has SEVERE weight stigma in treating you - Talked at me, very limited questions about my history and most of these were guided by myself - Offered an extremely severe nutrition regiment, which would have been very dangerous for me and when informed of this she became angry and told me I just didn't have any will power. -the staff in the office is always pleasant and clean, I've not had any trouble with any other provider. -Please be careful if you are worried about weight stigma, have a history of eating disorder.

Do not go here and here’s why (I audio recorded my entire visit): First visit with these people and my last, I will never go back. My experience started with a rude nurse. When my doctor finally came in I told her the nurse was extremely rude. She said nothing and starting talking about my chart. She totally dismissed what I said and did not acknowledge my complaint. I was recording the entire convo from start on my phone so I didn’t even get upset when she ignored me because I knew it was documented. Once she was done doing what her job entailed her to do she asked if there was anything else I needed. I responded, “Yes, please go get your head doctor.” She came back with the rude office manager. She was extremely rude and defensive as well. She asked if I was recording and I had to remind her of the law in the state of Arizona that I did not have to disclose that with her. Then as I was telling her about my first interaction with the facility she still had the same attitude.

Horrible bedside manner during the birth of my first baby. She acted like I was wasting her time, told me as I'm screaming in pain after my FIRST push that I might have to push for 3 hours so deal with it, and also didnt realize or care the epidural didnt worth and started giving me an episiotomy without local anesthetic (and rudely told me to stop moving because she "has a very small area to worth with and I'm making it very difficult) until I screamed I CAN FEEL EVERYTHING YOURE DOING!!! In which she just silently but roughly finished the episiotomy (before the anesthiticn even really kicked in) and left without a follow up or even regard that I had just had a baby. She was also extremely rude and stuck up to my family and the nurses in there, again acting like everyone was a peon and wasting her time. Ugh do NOT have this woman be your doctor or let her deliver your baby!!!

Very cold bedside manner. Did not validate my excruciating pain and suffering nor offer many, if any, solutions. Will not be seeing Dr. Balk again. It infuriates me that I waited over a month to see her, paid money and she didn't care to listen or seem interested to help me in the slightest. I felt she pushed me out the door without a proper diagnosis and now I am left to figure out what's wrong still.
