I've been seeing Dr. Costello for years and have always been treated with respect and kindness. He knows what he is doing. When I have a procedure done, my pain is gone. He is quit skilled. I highly recommend D. Costello.

Dr Costello is genuinely a GREAT Doctor and man
Dr Costello ALWAYS listens to your concerns and spends whatever time is required to exceed your expectations. He’s very very thorough and thinks out of the box to get you on the right track. I highly recommend him and the staff help at the Ballantyne location. These other reviews that state he’s not helpful, rushed or caring is absolutely incorrect. I’ve been seeing him for years and couldn’t believe the reviews when I read them because it’s just not in him or who he is to be the way described.

I saw Dr Costello at Southeast Pain and Spine hoping to be offered non surgical treatment options for my low back pain and sciatica. My expectations were not met. I was offered treatment options my surgeon's office already gave me which were injections. Dr. Costello said my only other treatment option was a spinal cord stimulator which I do not want given the cost and having something implanted inside your spine that you have to operate with a remote control. When I inquired about medication management he made it clear that "he is not that type of pain specialist".

I saw Dr. Costello last week as my rheumatologist referred me to Southeast Pain and Spine. I have a painful autoimmune disease called "ehlers danlos syndrome". My pain has become so bad and has limited my day to day function that my rheumatologist wanted me to see a pain specialist. Dr. Costello seemed very rushed and would not let me speak. He literally told me "we are not that type of pain practice" when I inquired about pain medications to help me manage my pain. The entire appointment lasted less than 5 minutes. This experience was horrendous and I left the appointment in tears.

I saw Dr. Costello a few weeks back and it was A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE! He spent less than 5 minutes with me and thumbed through my medical records and imaging from my spine surgeon's office. My spine surgeon recommended I see a pain management doctor due to continued pain from my spine surgery. Dr. Costello would only offer me injections or surgical implant procedures. I tried telling him i've already had all the injections at my spine surgeon's office, but he kept interrupting me when I tried explaining this. My experience was God awful and I would never recommend this doctor to anyone in need of a pain management doctor who can help them control their pain.

Do your research and read patient reviews before making an appointment here. Doctor does not listen to patients and complaints of pain, only offers spinal injections in a room that all patients pass as they come into the office, refuses to do any procedure in a sterile hospital setting, np was condescending and rude, treated me like a drug seeking junkie rather than a patient seeking a means to the end of daily pain. I have had to move hundreds of miles away and start the entire process all over no thanks to this doctor.

WONDERFUL! I have CRPS in my left leg/foot. I see Dr Kevin Costello in the Denver location. He was and is very professional. Listens. Dr Costello and his staff spent a lot of time with me. Made sure I knew my options and, as always, had to follow insurance guidelines. Got the lumbar injection as insurance required. Took the medication the insurance company required and it did not work. Moved onto the Sprint stimulator, in the back of the knee, (which was fabulous), and am waiting for approval for the spinal implant. His office staff is fabulous! Very professional. Very polite. Very accommodating. I strongly recommend this entire office. They are wonderful! They care about my health. I went to a pain management in Hickory and was herded in like cattle. NOTHING like that happened with Dr Costello and the staff.

This place is a disaster. I saw Kevin Costello for bulging discs in my lower back and he performed an epidural steroid injection. He ended up puncturing my thecal sac (spinal cord) and I developed a terrible “spinal headache” for a week non stop. I ended up going to the emergency room where they had to inject a blood clot into my spine to patch up the hole that was leaking out cerebrospinal fluid.

I cannot see why anyone in their right mind would see Dr Costello. I have had several visits and the focus was getting me injections which frankly I’m not sure if they were medically necessary and now he wants to implant a stimulator in me. Seeing Dr Costello has cost me thousands and I am certainly not better off (I still have daily low back pain). Also, he does not do medication management (for him it’s all about generating as much revenue as possible through injections and surgical procedures).

I had a double lumbar fusion in 2017 and suffer from chronic pain in my lower back and nerve pain in my legs. I recently moved to Charlotte NC from San Antonio TX and was a patient of a pain management clinic in San Antonio. I was treated with medications at the pain management clinic in San Antonio which greatly reduced my daily pain and improved my quality of life. During my first (and only) visit with Kevin Costello at Southeast Pain and Spine, I was treated as if I was a drug seeker. They said they could only offer me a Spinal Cord Stimulator and would not prescribe any medications. I would avoid Kevin Costello at all costs. It was evident that all he cared about was pushing an expensive surgical procedure on me, albeit one that he would profit considerably from. It's very frustrating for someone such a myself who has substantial pain on a daily basis to be ignored by a pain management doctor.

Dr. Costello was very concerned with my well being even during the proceedure he performed on me. I have not experienced any real pain in.the area.of my body since he did that proceedure. I am pleased with Dr. Costello and the results of my proceedure but do have a problem with this pain center not returning calls for 48 hours even if you are in dire pain.

I told him that never helped me and gave me nasty side affects and also i take adderall from my psychiatrist and those two meds mixed have causes so many problems and side effects. He saw my mother who is 93 years old. Treated her with respect and dignity. Did not treat her like a drug addict because she needed pain medication. She has osteoporosis and has multiple broken bones in her back. He was both professional and knowledgeable about treatment of pain for elderly patients. He cared about her quality of life and prevention of problems and safety issues with too medication. Hopefully he will be able to assist more of our elderly population with pain control.
