Great doctor
I used to see another doctor in this practice just she switched to VIP practice. So I defaulted to dr Holmes. I am thrilled. She has brought up things that I hadn’t even thought of that may be affecting my health. She is very thorough and I feel I’m in great hands. I highly recommend her.

terrible terrible staff
Terrible staff attitude, my wife's insurance listed this woman as her PCP. We made an appointment, they took all of our info and set a date in 3 weeks. We waited, my wife went in and they treated her very poorly, dismissed her after loudly declaring they don't take medicare advantage plans. the level of rude behavior was compounded by the fact that she called security after I asked to speak to her supervisor. She gave me a fictitious name, sent me to the 4th floor where there were closed offices for specialists (no admins) and called security to prevent me from filing a report. I filed anyway, the security guy believed me after I showed him the phone app with this dr assigned to my wife.

Wonderful!
Dr Holmes is a wonderful and caring doctor. I've only been a patient a few short years, but and incredibly saddened to hear she's not longer around! We never received a letter saying she's neither at her Brentwood location or that she's no longer in network with my insurance. Hope she's ok!!

Being released as a patient without a phone call
Truly classless experience. I was told I used the online portal for messaging and communication “too much”. I gave my reasoning as to why I used it (financial reasons, distance from the clinic, etc) and couldn’t help but ask for referrals for specific things having to do with my health. After my last message was not responded to I got a letter in the mail a few weeks later saying I’ve been released as a patient for “incompatibility” which had to be added under the reason “Other:”. It truly is a shame that it came to this because I thought Karen was rather nice. The mix up we had wasn’t something as big of a deal to release a patient but it is what it is I suppose. It’s just a slap in the face and makes me feel that she’s abandoned a patient just because there was a misunderstanding/mix up. If my doctor has an issue with my timely communication and actually caring about my health then so be it I suppose. I’m not a patient that goes once a year and hopes for the best. To each their own!

Not taken seriously enough.
I have been a patient with Dr. Holmes. I really do like her. I do have an issue with not being sent the email I was promised at my email. I am desperate to get the referral for a hearing test now that I can actually afford to get hearing aids and I don't really feel that my need is taken seriously. I have been having issues getting an appt. I accept she is really popular I guess. Her staff was not at all welcoming or supportive. They seemed indifferent which is really unacceptable. I didn't see enough people in the lobby to justify being treated as though they didn't have time for me or that they just couldn't care. When she was at the Southern Hills Location she was awesome and the office was awesome. I don't understand the change.

OK - not great
I really liked Dr. Holmes as a person, but my experience as a patient was disappointing. I had an 8 AM appointment and didn't get to the exam room until after 9. Dr Holmes didn't come in to see me until 9:40. That was a little unusual, but a long wait time is pretty common. It also seemed that either Dr. Holmes or her staff didn't really listen to my symptoms or complaints. I waited a long time to get lab reports back and in general, it just never felt like anyone there was all that concerned about my issues.

Doesn’t care about patients
My husband showed up 2 minutes early for a new patient appt. He was told he wouldn’t be seen because he wasn’t 30 minutes early. He became upset since he took off work and was there on time. While arguing with the front person the doctor herself came out and told him to leave or she will call the police. Unbelievable! She could care less about her patients. Luckily he found a wonderful PCP elsewhere. Stay away from her and this practice.

I would not recommend this doctor as her communication to patients, staff, and other physicians via referrals is woefully inadequate. In some instances that can be the difference between a good or bad patient outcome. She is disinterested in listening to, or even acknowledging, the illegitimacy of patient concerns. Additionally, it's apparent that her review of the medical files related to overall patient medical history is superficial at best.

Dr. Holmes is wonderful. We were patients in the past but when our insurance changed we were unable to see her without paying 100% out of pocket. Thankfully we now have a plan where we can see her again. She is caring and attentive and really takes the time for a thorough exam. I have referred many patients to her over the years!
