Dr Meachem was my hospitalist for a recent admission at Craven Regional. She never saw me, never took a history, never did a physical and never looked in on me. The first I saw her was when she came to discharge me. She told me I had diverticulitis. I began to ask her a question and she cut me off mid sentence and shouted that I had diverticulitis and that was that! Yet she never gave me antibiotics in my two days as an inpatient. She never ordered an IV even though I was clinically dehydrated. And never addresed any of my other symptoms. I find this situation to be simply appalling.

She was a hospitalist who treated me at Carolina East. I understood my medical condition better than she did.
