Compassion, Empathy, and Respect for patients
Due to previous issues and traumas, I am a fearful patient which also tends to make me a difficult patient. Dr. Alton made me feel heard and took my concerns seriously. She didn't try to convince be that something wasn't painful when it was. She thought of me as a whole person, not just a walking uterus. She included my fears and anxieties in her treatment plan. She goes above and beyond to work within my limits to provide me care. She is literally the only reason I stay with Kaiser. While going to the gynecologist is never going to be an experience I look forward to, I am at least no longer so afraid that I don't go.

Well, she replied to our message to our OBGYN doc as she was out of office. But I believe she didn't understand the process herself and guided us wrong. My expectation is before she replies she has to understand the process. she wasted a whole day of ours finding out the right direction. To her: Do your own research and then reply specially when you cover someone else's job. Thank you!

Dr. Alton is one of the kindest, most down-to-earth, relatable, and empathetic doctors I have ever had. I can't imagine trying to navigate some of the reproductive issues I have experienced without her by my side and leading my care. Even under difficult or painful circumstances, she makes you feel seen, valued, comfortable, and SAFE while empowering you to make your own decisions about your body, but guiding you with her wealth of knowledge and information to ensure you also feel informed about your choices, not just empowered. She is always accessible and incredibly responsive over Kaiser's messaging system!
