Dr Kathryn Shmunes and her entire staff are thoughtful, accommodating, and professional. They made my lasik experience pleasant and successful, and they went out of their way to make my two children with autism comfortable for their annual eye exams. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Dr. Neil Shmunes and Dr. Kathryn Shmunes are the most caring and friendly doctors. Dr. Neil gave us his personal phone number to me and stated unequivocally no matter what time of day or night to call him if we ever have any problems with the eye. We never had a doctor who would do that. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs an ophthalmologist.

I came in wanting LASIK and was pretty adamant about it. Dr. Shmunes explained LASIK vs PRK and recommended PRK. It's not what I wanted but after some tests and explaining about the shape of my eye and dangers with having kids I went with PRK. Kids will poke you in the eye, cough in it, throw stuff at you, hit your face. If I went with LASIK I would have had to have that flap redone a few times. After the brutal recovery my eye sight is better than with glasses and I regret not doing this sooner. It seems like a small thing but it makes a huge difference. The Dr. Shmunes and her father were great but the staff.... Her staff was even better, so welcoming and made you feel comfortable and happy to be there. Follow up care was great also, it's 5 visits that year and they kept it short and sweet.Even though I was talked out of LASIK into PRK I'm glad I did it. Looking back I appreciate her going over the pros and cons and helping me see the benefits.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Schmunes. She is professional, kind, patient, good listener but most importantly, she’s a rock star in her profession. You can say I was legally blind and she took her time to make sure that the lense she implanted was perfect. It is. Dr Kathryn Shmunes is the “Best” ever Ophthalmology Specialist, The chart would only let me grade a 5-star review but I wish I could give her a 100-star review. There are many things I am thankful for in life and Dr Shmunes are one of them. Although I said to her many thank you’s, it would never be enough for all she did for me and my eyes. One morning I went into the hospital surgery room not able to see my A,B,C,s on the reading chart. But OMG, hallelujah after surgery what a gift from her to me. I could now read the entire A, B,C reading chart. When I count my Blessings in Dr Shmunes I count her twice. Dr. Kathyrn Shmunes is a superb doctor. My cataract surgery was perfect. You are not rushed, and she takes plenty of time to answer any questions and is always available. I have never had a long wait in the office.

Dr. Schmunes is very knowledgeable and professional. Unfortunately the overwhelming time spent in her waiting room and then sitting in a treatment room is unacceptable. One should not have to spend over 2 hours to have a 5 to 10 minute interaction with a physician. This has happened on several occasions. More important is that her apparent indifference to this situation (which could likely be eliminated or eased) indicates a lack of empathy and concern that is difficult to accept.

Doctor Kathryn Shmunes, very professional in every sense of word, trustworthy, informative, caring, puts you right at ease, fully explains everything so your completely confident in in her recommendations. I had cataract surgery on both eyes and the experience was awesome.

Dr. Shmunes is an excellent ophthalmologist! I’ve had both eye cataracts removed and also a ptergium from one eye. The experience for a surgical procedure was nothing short of awesome! I’ve had perfect results! Dr Kathryn is so easy to talk to and always gives you more than enough time for the visit. I’ve referred her to several others already. She has noted eye irregularities others have missed in two patients that I know of. That’s really a good doctor!
