Dr. Karina Vivar, MD

Saw this doctor for a routine visit on a minor issue. They billed us over $4,000 including charges for surgery and operating room to put cream on mollescum. When I called to inquire, they said the charges were correct and coming from the doctor. The estimate for the visit was $150 at check in. The dermatologist we were seeing for the same issue previously charged $75 per visit for the same issue (and my daughter also had better results with the other doctor).

Avoid this 'doctor'. Completely incompetent and rude, was super late (1,5 hr.). Our child left in tears.

Although I liked Dr. Vivar, the billing with her office is absolutely ridiculous. My daughter had a wart frozen and they charged $426 for an 'operating room' charge (she never left the doctor's office), $547 for a 'surgery' charge, and $607 for a 'medical visit.'I was NEVER informed that I would have to pay $1580 for this procedure, which could have been done with an at-home kit. Also, I sent a three-sentence follow-up email and was charged $140. There is no transparency with billing and the charges are out of control.

Very disappointed in patient care. I went to see Dr. Vivar due to acne flare-ups after they had be gone for a while. It seemed as if she didn't bother to read my chart. Recommended medications that I had already been on (which obviously did not work) and then proceeded to recommend that I go back on another medication, but she had told me a month ago to go back on it again. Barely gave me advice on what to do and stated "what do you want to do" as if I was the doctor in the situation. To make matters even better, she sent my prescription to another state, after informing her I was home for another month, and did not confirm that pharmacy as correct. I walked out of that appointment with the same amount of knowledge, if not less, than I had walked in with. Do not schedule with her."
