I felt disrespected
A year ago, I exercised my patient rights to refuse a drug that has terrible side effects. She judged me very negatively, was visibly upset that I'd questioned her authority, treated me like she knows everything & I know nothing at all, scorned me & brusquely escorted me out of her office. A very recent radiological scan shows that my condition has quite significantly improved without having taken the drug she had tried to push on me, nor have I used any other prescription medicine for my condition. I am successfully addressing it with diet, vitamins & supplements, herbs, & exercise. I had chosen her as my PCP (1 appt. only after my bad experience with her) & obviously wrongly assumed that since she was a D.O., not an M.D., she would be open to the most natural non-drug approach, & prefer that. I was shocked that this wasn't the case. Her arrogance & defensiveness were appalling! No medical professional is worthy of unquestioning obedience! Dr. & patient should be a team!
