My regular doctor retired, leaving me with Dr. Garza by default. Her front desk staff are terrible, leaving me on hold for long periods of time and ZERO interest on trying to work with me on scheduling or getting medications refilled. I DO NOT recommend this office for any of your healthcare needs.

Dr.Nora Garza visits were a 2hr wait in addition to wait time in the room. It was nearly impossible to get anyone to pick up the phone, the line will send you to voicemail without giving you options, this was infuriating when my loved one really needed to see her or follow up on a referral or prescription. There was also no response on their portal. On a visit we spoke about certain side affects and asked to not be out on certain medication she didn’t listen and insisted my loved on be on the medication on top of her getting upset if we went against her medical suggestions. My loved one was diagnosed with cancer at an ER visit which she visited Dr. Garza multiple times with symptoms that she never took seriously. After her cancer diagnosis she called me only to givethe wrong name of cancer and told me she didn’t have much longer to live. I had been in contact with her oncologist and he gave me the correct cancer diag. Find another clinic and doc your life depends on it. .

3 hour wait
This morning I waited 3 HOURS for a scheduled appt, and ultimately had to leave without seeing Dr. Garza. After waiting over two hours, I decided to stand, because it was more comfortable. At that point the staff informed me that Dr. Garza 'needed me to sit down'. If you value your time and want to be treated with respect I would steer clear of this disorganized dysfunctional practice.

Abrupt Departure from Quality
It is with great disappointment and frustration that I share my recent experiences with Garza Medical Group, a once-reputable establishment that has plummeted into a pit of incompetence and apathy following the departure of Dr. Jakubowski. One of the most glaring issues is the apparent negligence towards patient communication. Phone calls to Garza Medical Group are met with an infuriating wall of silence, as if the staff has collectively decided to abandon any semblance of responsibility. It is disheartening to witness a once-responsive and patient-centric office devolve into an abyss of unanswered calls and neglected voicemails.Personally, after 2 weeks of calling, multiple times a day, I took time off work to drive to their office to get some sort of response. To my surprise, Instead of providing individualized care, the current staff seems to have adopted a blanket policy, dismissing patients based solely on their medication regimens.

SAVE YOURSELF FROM THIS PLACE AND HEADACHES
We been with this practice for a couple months and we regret it everyday. We attempted to visit 3 times but was only seen once. There’s a reason why she is rated 3.5 out of 5 stars. Over 30% are 1 stars that they try to hide online. 1. Our first appointment was scheduled a couple months in advanced. Took the day of work off, Dr. Nora Garza decides she needs to go to vacation and cancels all appointments the day before and reschedules us another couple of months out. So we lose money and lose time.2. The number on the website, don’t bother calling. They don’t pick up, in fact you’re going to have to call about 5 times so that they get annoyed enough to even pick up the phone.3. After we finally get an appointment we were scheduled for a follow up. When scheduled for the follow they failed to notify us that Dr. Nora Garza was at a different location. This practice is an embarrassment to the healthcare community of San Antonio and to the name Dr. Nora Garza.

Great Doctor, Disorganized Office Though
I cannot tell you how difficult it was to get a referral, or an appointment with Dr. Garza's office. It would take weeks and multiple phone calls to get a referral done correctly. I called in June to get my annual appointment. It was scheduled for August. They called to reschedule the night before. Then it was rescheduled for October. They called again the night before to say they changed their office hours and I needed to reschedule. Then they called me the next day and told me I missed that appointment. I told them I received a voicemail saying it had to be rescheduled and they seemed surprised and said I couldn't get in until January. At that point, I was done.

You will never see her and her staff is not caring
Got stuck with the NP who I only saw twice and was passed on to another NP who was not available for my 'follow - up'. They were quick to prescribe meds but no one is ever available to see the patient. I have had two ER visits due to the over prescribing of meds and no actual patient care from this office. Now, today i was told that my appointment has to be cancelled and they would call me back. I got an automated cancellation message and cannot get anyone to answer the phone. This office should not accept new patients as they cannot take care of the ones they have now. The staff needs to understand that PATIENTS are seeking medical care for a reason and sometimes the patient does not feel well. A certain level of compassion is needed to be in this field. Sadly, most of the receptionists and MAs are just there for a paycheck and to be able to say the work at a doctors office and not fast food where they probably belong in the first place.

Not the best
Dr. Garza is a caring, compassionate doctor...if you ever get to see her. Whenever I am scheduled with Dr. Garza I have to wait at least an hour after my appointment time to see her. This last time I saw her after waiting 2 hours after my appointment time. I've also been waiting almost 2 weeks for her to refill a prescription that she still hasn't done yet. If you call the office there's a 50/50 chance they will answer the phone. I have had to physically walk into the office to ask a question because no one was answering me.

Just okay
I haven't been able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Garza in about a year. Prior to today, I've had nothing but great interactions with her and the staff. That changed today. Made an appointment online for what I thought was an in-person appointment. The day of the appt I received a phone call asking if it was okay for it to be virtual to which I agreed. Appt time was 3 pm. I was never told if I would be called or sent a link via text, or email. So I kept checking all three. I made sure my phone was on and I received NOTHING. I never received any contact. When I finally called the office 2.5 hours later I was told the PA "tried" to reach me but was unsuccessful. This was a flat-out lie. To add insult to injury when I called the woman who answered the phone was unapologetic and rude.

Dr Garza is Great. Her Staff brings her down.
Dr Garza.. was a great Doctor. Is a good one. Though I haven't seen her face in a year. As she has taken on PA's, mine being Ms Navarro who honestly is so so. She's either ok.. or cold. Nothing above that. Roger and the rest of herstaff. Are rude. They don't return calls.. they dont answer calls.. they take very UNPROFESSIONAL tones and act as if you are BOTHERING THEM when calling with medical issues. She has been my PCP almost as long as I've been in Texas but I am finally changing providers because her staff makes it unbearable and hard to be cordial and continue patronage. They have to be family member or friends because no way would I hire them to deal with people on a daily basis.

I have been a patient of Dr. Garza for over a year now. So glad l am her patient. From the time l arrive for my appointment, l get excellent service. Staff takes your temperature at the entrance door. COV-19 precautions are in place. Immaculate office, extremely clean. Staff wearing masks along with any patient waiting to be seen. Social distance is in place. Waiting time is minimal. Front desk individuals are very professional and keep you informed. Roger, the medical assistant taking my history and vitals is very professional. As for Dr. Garza, she has my blood pressure and cholesterol in excellent control. Better than any doctor that l have seen in the past 25 years. I sleep well and most of all, feel well. She earns 10 ?? from me. Doctor Garza listens to my medical problems, put a treatment plan for me to follow and now l know my health is under control. "Excellent Doctor."

I was misdiagnosed and she lied to me. Telling me that it was against the law to prescribe me my medications for anxiety causing me to go to the er 3x before I was able to get the proper treatment. Now she is refusing anyone in her office if they are not covid vaccinated or have a negative covid test. I would never recommend her to anyone. She is the word dr I have ever encountered. If I could give her zero stars I would, because that's what she deserves.
