Above and Beyond Care!
Dr. Lee was able to successfully remove my husband's brain tumor which was already at 5.4cm, which is considered a fast developing tumor from their assessment based off of the MRI. We were assured that it would be a successful procedure based on his capabilities. He really demonstrated above and beyond care, treating his clients more than just a patient. He made us feel welcome and safe. We are grateful for his expertise, and we will never forget his outstanding performance in the surgical procedure. Thank you Dr. Lee!

Competent & Caring!
I had occasion to talk with Dr Lee (who returned my phone call himself!) recently; he was helpful in referring me appropriately to someone since I now live about 3500 miles from CA. 10 years ago, Dr Lee saw me and performed (double) microvascular decompression surgery with craniectomy - to treat the (15 years of increasing) pain of trigeminal neuralgia. He and his team (then at Cleveland Clinic) were outstanding in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for my condition. Dr. Lee is not only competent, he is, indeed, the most caring and thoughtful physician I have ever met.

I owe my life to Dr.Lee
Dr. Joung Lee is an amazing human being. He has both the hands of a skilled neurosurgeon and a brilliant mind. He removed a large olfactory groove meningioma in 2013 and I am still doing great! I am a Master's prepared Nurse and, admittedly, have very high expectations of my health care providers. I had several other consultations when I was diagnosed and Dr. Lee was, without question, the most qualified neurosurgeon I talked with. He is highly respected by his peers and patients. He takes time with his patients and deeply cares about them (with his entire heart and soul). I have worked with many physicians and I have never met a physician more skilled than Dr. Lee... and I have never met a physician who cared about his patients as much as Dr. Lee. I love him like family (quite literally). If you are part of the brain tumor community, I am sorry you are on this journey. But please know that Dr. Lee is here for you.

My elderly mother (who is 81) has been having issues with her hearing and through an MRI, we discovered a tumor in her left ear and brain. We went to Dr. Joung H. Lee for a consultation with great anxiety and fear. Normally when meeting with doctors, I usually am my mother’s spokesperson and am the one who maintains the conversation for various reasons (general ease, language barriers, age, etc.). But Dr. Lee made it a point to speak directly with my mother, and with great patience and kindness, clearly explained everything happening with her condition and transparently outlined next steps. I was blown away when I found out that he had studied up on her case the night before and took the time to prepare for this consultation. And in addition to all that, he gave me many resources and helpful links to figure out things on my own in case something were to come up. Talk about above and beyond! Leaving his office was the most relieved and secure we’ve felt from any doctor. Thank you Dr!

Dr. Joung H Lee performed a craniotomy and removed a brain tumor, which was a size of tangerine on January 31, 2019. As it was an emergency to save my life, I had no information on Dr. Joung H Lee or prior to the surgery. After reviewing MRI images, my primary doctor notified Dr. Lee and HPMC and about my case. By the time I arrived at the hospital, Dr. Lee's team was already prepared for my admission to the hospital and operation. He did what he had promised me prior to surgery: I walked home after three days of surgery, as Dr. Lee had promised. He said he would work with the billing department to ensure that I can only worry about recovery, not insurance or incorrect charges. Despite my extremely rare brain cancer, which required two pathological analyses and genetic testing for the final diagnosis, Dr. Lee diagnosed correctly during the surgery from his surgical experiences and expertise. Dr. Lee saved my life. I would always recommend him for any brain surgery for anyone.

Would def not recommend. He removed an acoustic neuroma (a form of brain surgery) for me about 8 years ago. I did not see him before, during, or after the surgery and I was in the hospital about 4 days. Very poor manners. You'd think that a doctor doing brain surgery on you would at least have the decency to see you after such a major event. And I find out several years later he didn't get the whole tumor like I thought. I now have a residual tumor. This is very rare.

I met Dr. Lee in January 2017 as he was the doctor assigned to remove my brain tumor. Dr. Lee is extremely professional and thoroughly explained what the brain tumor was like and how he was going to remove it. He made me feel comfortable and did a fantastic job at reassuring me that everything was going to turn out fine. With a procedure as serious as the one I underwent, I expected a doctor with all the qualities that Dr. Lee has. He is willing to share his knowledge with his patients, he is ca

The initial consultation was excellent, and I felt like I was in the best hands. now Dr. seems as though he was always in a rush. I felt like he just wanted me out of the office. I am still experiencing dizzy spells from my brain surgery and do not feel like I can return to work. it took at least 4 emails to him and 4 messages left with his office before he called me back. as of today I have been waiting 3 weeks for my disability to be updated correctly.
