Dr. Joseph Thompson, DO

Was very though in my visit. Will definitely go back and use him as my family doctor. Dr Thompson had a wonderful attitude and listened to my needs and wants.

He is amazing with my pops in law. He explained what he was doing why he was doing. He caught something really serious and sent straight to ER. We appreciate him very much . He was very professional and and still was able to make pops laugh. I highly recommend him to anyone .

When I finally got insurance through my former employer, I randomly picked Dr. Thompson from a list of PCPs on HealthGrades accepting new patients and scheduled a physical. He took his time, asking me a lot of questions to get a full picture of my past health and habits, and in the process of palpating found an enlarged thyroid that no other physician had noticed before. When he sent me to follow-up tests and confirmed hyperthyroidism, a lot of my past 'problems' made sense (insomnia, anxiety, irritability, inability to gain and keep weight) and I had a path forward to improved health and changed habits. I have not had as thorough a physician before him or since he moved on to a different area, and feel cheated now when my current PCP spends 10 minutes total for a 'physical' asking generic questions, or shifts me off to an NP who doesn't know anything about me, and neither is willing to take the time to do any actual examining beyond using a stethoscope, and no follow-up.

I loved having Dr. Thompson as my primary care physician- he always directed me to the care I needed and I felt comfortable with him and that he actually wanted to find solutions regarding my healthcare. Thanks Doc, I’ll miss you at the Payson Banner clinic.

He's been my primary care physician for 3 years now and I honestly wouldn't be alive today without him. After years and years of being neglected and dismissed by my doctors in a big city (different state), I've finally started getting the answers, specialists, and treatments I've needed, thanks to Doc Thompson. He was the first doctor in years who actually listened to me and genuinely cared enough, and that has meant the world to me. He has also been so incredibly gentle during procedures that would usually have me hollering, sobbing, or crushing some innocent chair arm (probably all of the above). We need more health care providers like him!

Just fine. And if you think he has ethical issues maybe you shouldn't lie to The Man.

Ethical issues include complete disregard of professionalism including inappropriate use of social media (messenger) as well as a total abuse of physician’s trust when it comes to patients/families of patients.

My 1st visit was with Dr. Thompson today. I was very impressed with his professionalism and thoroughness. He was extremely friendly making me feel very comfortable discussing any issues I had. He answered all questions I had and explained my course of treatment clearly. I am very grateful to have him as my primary care physician.
