Dr. Jose Gonzalez, MD

I just found out Dr. Gonzalez retired and I am at a loss for words. I have been his for 15+ years and he will be hard to replace. I wish him and his wife all the best with his retirement. Mary

Dr Gonzalez was extremely rude to me. I arrived 15 minutes late for a 7:30 AM appt (I went to upstairs office by mistake) and he told me that I’d have to be seen 30 minutes later and then when I asked the nurse if I should reschedule came out again and said I wasn’t even his patient (I’d seen him before) and that I should go find another dr if I didn’t want to wait, and then before I could say anything canceled my appt himself. His office staff and nurse were nothing but nice to me and no one ever said one word about being late. I had to make carpool and job arrangements to schedule the appt. and was frustrated by his tone of voice and attitude. I am unclear why his office staff or nurse didn’t inform me I was late and would not be able to be seen when I first arrived instead of after I had filled out paperwork, met with the nurse, and started to change into a robe for the exam. I felt humiliated by the experience. I would write more detail but have run out of characters.

I don’t understand the good ratings. First and last visit. Lousy bedside manner, talks about himself, incorrectly diagnosed me with high blood pressure based on one reading. I later found out I do not have high blood pressure. Doesn’t listen. His nurse, however, is excellent. Adios Dr. Gonzalez

I was very upset when my Doctor retired, but fortunately, Dr. Gonzalez was recommended to me by a good friend of mine. He and his assistant Joan are amazing. I easily get an appointment, refill the medicine, and get an answer to any concern at any time I need it. Dr. Gonzalez takes the time to listen to me and to answer all my questions with a full explanation, demonstrating not just his acknowledgment, but his caring soul. I would not change him for any other family physician. I hope he is not looking for his retirement anytime soon!

My husband and I are both patients of Dr. Gonzalez and absolutely love him and Joan. They are both top notch. Dr. Gonzalez answers any question we have for him with great knowledge on just about everything. We have named Joan "Miss Efficiency". I would highly recommend this practice to anyone.

I've been a patient of Dr. Gonzalez for 12+ years and have never had a visit which wasn't completely satisfying. Dr. G. is very prompt, he listens & answers my questions, knows my medical issues without searching thru my chart, and he's thoughtful & congenial. His nurse, Joan M., is phenomenal, quick with info, appointments, referrals, Rx call-ins, etc. They are a great team and the front desk & lab folks are excellent. I've referred 3 family members who all love this group. HIGHLY recommended!

You always get called at your appointment time and he's walking into the room within 5 minutes of the nurse checking your vitals. I can not recommend Dr Gonzalez and Joan enough. I've been seeing this practice for 10 years and each visit is on time, thoughtful and deliberate. He is the only doc I know in Atlanta who is actually timely. Dr Gonzalez takes his time and is thoughtful with each patient. Joan makes getting in a breeze. The front office and lab are all timely.!
