Great Trauma Surgeon
In May of 2023, while on vacation in Sandpoint, I fell with a glass in my hand. I sliced my hand wide open across the palm. I cut 2 tendons, 4 nerves and 2 arteries. After getting off a 12 hours shift her returned to the ER and completed a 6 hour surgery to save my hand. He was kind, concise and professional. He made me feel comfortable and safe. Eight months later, I have 90% use of my hand. I am lucky my accident happened in Sandpoint

Hip Trauma
I slipped on the ice in February of 2021. I was brought to the emergency room via an ambulance and Dr Klauke was the on-call surgeon that day. I broke my hip from the fall and I would need an extensive surgery to put my bones back together with pins, screws and other hardware. After asking around all the nurses, they confirmed that Dr Klauke was a fantastic surgeon and I was in good hands. I went through with the surgery and I appreciated a couple things about Dr Klauke--He was a straight shooter. He didn't try to hide the fact that my recovery was going to be long and difficult. He told me what needed to happen from the beginning so I had clear expectations. He was thorough and he did a fantastic job and made me feel comfortable enough to ask semi-embarrassing questions. My scar is a perfectly straight line that is now fading. It's coming on 2 years from the date of the accident (how long he said it could take to recover) and I am so thankful that such a competent Dr did my surgery.

Dr. Klaucke is very personable. He looks you in the eye and explains exactly what the problem is. I didn't require surgery; however, I have heard excellent reviews from two of his patients. He would be highly recommended by me.
