Money hungry
Massively overcharged for a simple tag removal procedure I happen to know can be done quite easily. Most derms wouldn't even charge, or they'd at least include it in the insurance-covered bill with the visit fee. Didn't bother to send the tag to a lab for testing either. Told me I had to make a separate appointment for another personal issue I brought up, which is ridiculous. The visit was quite short. Clearly was looking to bill me again. He was nice enough and the skin tag removal was fine, but if you choose to go to him, be ready to get fleeced.

Snappy and snarky
Found this person lacking in bedside manager. It was uncomfortable, he was sarcastic and snippy, out of the blue.

Excellent Doctor Great Patient Interactions!
I was diagnosed with melanoma by Dr. Zampella. He displayed excellent bedside manner and worked with me to deploy the least invasive therapy to cure my condition. I am now three years cancer free. I continue to see Dr. Zampella on a regular basis to check my progress and deal with significant sun damage accumulated through my life. I highly recommend him. A sympathetic caring doctor.

Expensive and in ineffective
Firstly I had to reexplain my personal skin issues to 3 people before I was able to speak to the doctor so you can expect no privacy with your issues, secondly the Dr used freezing to remove my skin tags plus prescribed some medication for them. Nor the freezing nor the medication worked and I received a bill for over $1400.00 of which I had to pay $200 out of pocket. The next soonest appointment was 2 months away and as I waited 6 weeks the first time this was excessively long. I ended up going to my out of network dermatologist Dr Whitlow of whom he is the only person I needed to deal with and he solved my issue in one shot his price was $450.00 but at least my issue is fixed immediately.

Dr. Zampella has superior bedside manner and went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and understood each step of the exam. He answered any questions I had articulately without using unnecessary medical terminology a typical patient wouldn't understand. His explanation of additional services offered by his practice were based on his assessment of my specific skin needs and did not at all feel as though he was trying to sell me on any unnecessary or expensive services.
