Dr. John Tsongalis, MD

You are not going to find a better doctor in the area. He is smart, ethical and really has your wellbeing in mind (even when he will not do what you want him to). He is cautious and will refer you to a specialist, before making medical decisions which are not within his wheelhouse. Plus, he has a sense of humor.

Very professional, yet caring... willing the give medical advice to help you manage and mitigate health problems for better quality of life.. without needless drugs or endless visits... Very helpful with all my health problems.

I am a new patient, having just moved here from Chicago. I have been taken care of thru Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was uncomfortable to be leaving all of my doctors in their various specialties. I brought a copy of my old records and gave them to the doctor. He reviewed my chart, making comments, asking questions and giving explanations to me that made me very comfortable and impressed with how he thought and cared for his patients. I am a retired nurse with many years of experience. I feel that Dr. Tsongalis is a gift and am certain he can help me improve my health.a

He is very intone and concerned about his patients and the care they get from providers he refers to. He responds to the portal. He is on time for appointments and Syndne who brought me into the room was great too.

Great doctor, terrible office staff. Don't come here if you aren't ready to manage their staff for them.

After a checkup, he forgot to enter orders for important blood tests into the computer. I waited and asked his nurse. She said he was now busy with another patient but she would talk to him and call me. No call. A oversight like that can have consequences. I got another PCP.

Dr Tsongalis is my new PCP, a result of my recent move to Northampton. Since the move, I have had one visit with him to establish a health baseline. Next spring, I will have a full annual physical, and it will be with Tsongalis, who is a keeper. He is thorough, listens, offers expert advice, shows concern and follows up with appropriate referrals to highly rated specialists in the valley area.

Dr Tsongalis treats my 88 year old mother. He has been very comprehensive in his treatment and the first doctor to make sure to connect us to a social worker at his office to make sure that all her geriatric needs are being addressed. It has been a tremendous help as all this can be very overwhelming. We're very happy that my mother is under his care.

I have been seeing this Doctor for the last 3 years. I use the word "Doctor" gingerly as he is the worst medical provider I have ever experienced. Do not be fooled by is calm collected manner; underneath his exterior lies the mind of a man who is without a doubt arrogant, self-absorbed individual. He misdiagnosed me on 4 different occasions throughout my time there; conditions that could have manifested into something much worse had I of not went to a more competent provider.

Dr Tsongalis care is Above and beyond! Listens to patients and explains things clearly and never rushes. Excellent in every aspect!! Very caring!

This doctor has seen my daughter twice now. We always have to wait a ridiculous amount of time, which may just be the scheduling policies of Cooley-Dickinson. While his bedside manner is superior to many medical professionals we have gone to, he presents a one sided and incomplete approach to medical research, specifically in regard to novel (probiotic therapy) and traditional (herbal) medicine. The approach of waiting until a condition worsens to debilitating was suggested; very odd way to help
