I saw this doctor once for an annual. He was in a real hurry, the pap test was quite painful and he pretty much pushed his fingers in and out in less than a second. Later I had a problem and went in with my partner for support. It sort of seemed like they really did not want him there with me. So they had me strip from the waist down and the doctor came in with a student, kind of weird but I didn't object. After discussing symptoms he moved the table with like a power motor. He then reached up under my shirt and bra and felt both breasts really roughly and I had to get back into my bra while he laid me down and put me in stirrups. He pushed the speculum in as far and wide open as it would go , then he pushed his fingers in as far as he could and I couldn't tell for sure but it felt like a finger went in my butt. It was terribly painful, then the student had to examine me. All he wanted to discuss was surgery. I went elsewhere and got help. Just be aware of how rough this doctor is.

I had my first child when I was a patient of Dr. Shie. (7/7/18) He was FANTASTIC! The only reason I had to stop seeing him was because my insurance changed (employer provided insurance).

I nearly walked out because Dr Shie had me so upset! I was with my previous OB for 14 years but he moved to FL. Finding a new Dr is stressful! My RE referred me to FarHillsOB to see another Dr but Shie was available sooner than her. When I read his bio I was excited to see him but after meeting him not so much! I was explaining things my previous Dr had told me and he was very rash and argumentative with me - in front of a med student. He even said if I didn't agree I could find another office.

Very disappointed in my last visit. I had been going to him for a few years, & last year was the experience that led me to find a different OBGYN. With a med student in the room, he tried to argue with me about me having (or not having) BV - something I've had many times before - & also for needing a yeast infection pill after the BV treatment. He argued that the BV treatment "did not cause a yeast infection" and refused me my yeast pill. He made me feel embarrassed and like I was incompetent.
