My dad had surgery with Dr Ergener to relieve back pain and neuropathy due to compressed spinal nerves. He was sent to a rehab facility afterwards with no orders for wound care and ended up getting an infection. Then when his wound was finally healing, Ergener canceled the use of my dad's wound vacuum and within 2 days his wound got infected again! It's bad enough that he has to go in and get his wound cleaned out in the hospital. Ergener took no responsibility for anything and was rude and dismissive. Maybe he's a good surgeon, but he has no concept of aftercare and is arrogant and unempathetic.

His lack of empathy and rude manners were beyond comprehension to me. If you are not ready for surgery you would better not visit this man. On top of it he was incompetent enough not to advise on important things that another doctor was able to resolve.

I had an extensive laminectomy and fusion performed by Dr Ergrner in 2016. I have been confined to a wheelchair ever since...I don't know if,over time,I would've ended up in the chair, but I do know that surgery is the biggest regret of my life. I was in the recovery ward for almost 2 months, and he had to open me back up after the first surgery caused incredible neuropathic pain in the leg that wasn't having pain or weakness before surgery,so now I'm fused from T10-S2...~12"-14" of my spine...I can't walk,or stand...just horrible. I can barely care for myself any more

Right up there with one of the WORST Dr's I have ever had the displeasure of wasting my time. He is an embarrassment to the profession. I have had unsuccessful spinal fusion surgery- along with the misfortune of being stuck with Kaiser Permanente as my insurance provider- shall I say PAST provider as I will be cancelling Kaiser ASAP. What kind of a Dr. walks into your room and states; "Well, you had surgery, it didn't work, what do you want me to do?" Well I told him what he could do...

Terrible, does not know how to read MRI, bubbling idiot. Could not give a diagnosis if it was a broken finger. I should not of even given him a star period. Got second opinion and review from Dr. SCHERPING. SCHERPING is great. If you are in Kaiser Network and need back surgery, stay away from Ergener and see SCHERPING he knows how to take care of you.

Dr. Ergener is very sensitive and compassionate to his patients illness. I was diagnosed with a herniated disc by two neurologist that planned me for emergency surgery. I went to Dr. Ergener for a third opinion, and he thoroughly explained my illness and said that he would not authorize surgery. Based on the X-Ray, he said my condition would heal itself. He ordered Acupuncture and Physical Therapy. He used a skeleton to show me the fracture and where the pain originates. HE WAS AWESOME!

Horrible! He was rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. He does not like to answer any questions. He did not know what was wrong with me so he looked up A syndrome on Wikipedia!!! He printed out 10 pages and sent me on my way. Since he was mad because I asked him a question... I was trying to talk to him and he put his hand in my face and shushed me 3 times!! I would never recommend this man to anyone ever! He also did not know how to read my MRI's. My visit was a waste of time! No stars!!!
