Dr. Jing Dong, MD

Dr. Dong is an excellent doctor and his staff is thorough and helpful. I had a procedure about 9 months ago and everything is great with my vision. He made me feel at ease ahead of and during the procedure and explained everything well. He is very technically skilled and compassionate. Highly recommend!

Assessment was fragmented and inadequate. High volume of patients he sees for surgery exceeds his available time (rushed, frenetic) as well as his level of clinical surgical expertise, and his poor physician-patient communication ability. He has difficulty assimilating oral information, is condescending, and he responds defensively if contradicted with facts. Also recommend greater transparency of surgical process, including anesthesia, and specifics of aftercare. Poor outcome.

Dr. Dong, along with every team member I interacted with, were extremely professional and competent. One word sums up my experience: outstanding.

Dr Dong & staff were very nice and friendly. Answered all questions and concerns upon arrival and at check out. Would recommend him if you're having eye complications.

So far so good. Had PRK 4 days ago. The surgery itself was not painful. Recovery over the weekend was. All that was left xplained upfront and expected. The staff, especially Jennifer, was very informative and I knew what to expect as we went. Dr, Dong was very good and gave me all the information needed to decide which surgery would be best.

Dr. Dong is a knowledgeable, competent ophthalmologist. However, his manner with me was disrespectful, dismissive. I began seeing Dr. Raj at the same practice and received the kind, thoughtful care I expected all along.The office staff, although friendly, is not dependable when it comes to prescription refills and when advocating for me with the insurance companies.

Dr. Dong is the best Ophthalmologist I have ever seen or heard of. He is so knowledgeable and caring. His staff is also top notch. Everyone is so outgoing and friendly. Each of them are attentive to your needs and do their job to perfection. Best experience that I have had at any eye doctor. The care you receive is definitely worth the wait time.

Dr Dong’s office is a very busy place because he is the best ophthalmologist in town. You never go to a restaurant that always has an empty parking lot. As i understand he is a medical doctor and usually will bill my medical insurance he has an option of two optometrist in his offices that can bill my vision insurance. His staff was very helpful in explaining this process and explaining my exam. I had cataract surgery in 2021 and Dr Dong was completely honest about my options. I wanted to pay for the best results. He explained i wasn’t a candidate and showed me why it wouldn’t work for me. I was thankful that he didn’t just want my money. As he may be a fast pace doctor he has his staff trained properly to educate and answer any questions! I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Dong really does care for his patients. I feel very well taken care of after leaving his office. He is the only surgeon in the area that I would trust to do surgery on my eyes. I recommend him to anyone that asks about an eye doctor in the area, especially for cataract surgery!

Dr. Dong did cataract surgery on both of my eyes. My vision is better than it has been since I was a child! I felt cared for by everyone through every step of the process. Dr. Dong is the best surgeon around by far.

Dr. Dong is very knowledgeable. He gave me the most thorough exam and even checked on things that I was not specifically going in for. And it was still a very quick appointment.

I visited the office yesterday and from the beginning to end was very pleasant. From staff to doctor, everyone was awesome. Thank you Dr. Dong for establishing such a great team!

Things were rush-rush. While they're putting drops in my eyes they are rushing to get a reading on my eyes. Wish I had not relied on the concept of a professional. They scheduled too many patents at the same time. Now, my dominant eye has changed sides and my R eye needs a new prescription sometimes as soon as the last new lens was made. I had gone in for cataracts - but had none of the problems other people had - but my regular eye Dr. was no longer able to write a prescription. Now, regardless of who would do the corrective procedure, it's me that would have top put up with the discomfort and follow-up BS.

Dr Dong is a ripoff. Never used my Eye Insurance wanted to use my medical insurance which cost me more. Wife used him for several years and her eyes kept getting worse and worse. Told her last time she had the start of cataracts gave her a prescription for glasses and they were worse. Went back and said everything was good. Made an appointment in Commerce with U and M Eye care. Doctor told her there she should have had cataract surgery years ago. She had surgery today. All went very good. Very please with U&M Eye Care. I also made a appointment with U&M they used my Eye Insurance and with my eye plan I get one checkup a year so no charge

No problem with Dr. Dong, but a problem with his office staff. When they are contacted by a pharmacy for verification of a prescription refill, they never get back to the pharmacy. I always end up having to call Dr. Dong's office myself to get a response. This has happened time after time.

Had Cataracts removed and multi-focus lens put in. Paid for the latest and greatest and still can not see good out of my left eye. Last visit a couple of week ago had barely legal vision to drive. Dr. Dong keeps offering glass!!!!!!!!!! Did not pay over $7000 to wear glasses, was wearing them before surgery and was told by paying the extra $$$$$ and getting the latest and greatest, that I would not to have to wear glasses. Add the fact that I have to put drops in my eyes all day long. Not a happy camper.
