Dr. Jewell Huffman III, MD

Never have I been so offended by someone in a medical field. Within 15 minutes the Dr had decided my dad was a drug addict just in for pain meds and that we were wanting him admitted to take care of him. Insinuating that I did not want to take care of him. All of this I heard him say outside our door. My dad just finished 6 weeks in swing bed 30 min from home while we waited on a cpap appt and machine. We finally got what we needed Wed and he came home. I can assure you it is easier to take care of him at home than taking him supper every night bc they starve him at Calhoun City. He went by ambulance because he could not move his leg due to the pain that a cellulitis flair was causing and for fear of a blood clot or sepsis. Immediately ruled out sepsis but did nothing to see if there was a blood clot and then were discharging him with antibiotics. Wanted him to sit up and stand to walk out of er. He couldn’t because of the pain and thought my daddy was faking it.

Dr. Huffman has been my PCP for several years. He has always been eager to listen to my concerns and is thorough in his assessment and treatment. I respect the fact that he is straight forward and honest in a compassionate way, as a doctor should be. He’s professional judgement has always been spot on. Dr. Huffman and his amazing staff gets the job done in a timely manner time and time again. He is a great primary care physician and ER physician.

We were seen in ER by Dr.Huffman. He was very thorough in his assessment and we left very confident in his findings. A most pleasant bedside manner and very calm and confident in his demeanor, we left ER encouraged and relieved. Many months since our visit, all is well. The Staff at ER was wonderful and we had a very short wait time. This was my best ER trip and heartily recommend this ER and Doctor to others.
